Mississippi.

Attacks on the bodily autonomy of women continued as Mississippi outlawed all abortion.

it is, of course, a gambit to overturn Roe, and possibly Griswold under a Dolt 45 packed court.
I’m hoping the mainline conservatives (as opposed to the last three), will be a steadying force.

This is an all out war on women, women’s sexuality, poor children and a pass for the boys of all ages that were involved.

I don’t agree that it is “an all out war on women”.

It is however a very poor and backward decision. I imagine men and women in the Mississippi government have come to this conclusion.

What is sad about all of this is sex apps are still legal while abortion is not??????

Wow - god bless merica
Max, ask yourself this question: What male bodily functions are subject to government intervention?

There are consequences for both parties. I am pro abortion

No one who supports women's reproductive rights is "pro-abortion". I am "pro-choice" in that while at some level I may find such a procedure unpleasant to think about and which I wish was not necessary, but at the same time it is not my place to pass judgement on those who choose it, let alone have a say. I will always support any women's right to choose, whether that means continuing the pregnancy or not. No one other than she can or should make that choice and yes, that even includes the father. While he may share equal responsibility for the pregnancy; he does not have to bear the burden of carrying it to term nor raise it afterwards if he decides to bail.

When it comes to political and culture war issues, words matter. The right-wing in this country have already won on several fronts in the war to define liberalism and anything else they disagree with; we shouldn't make it any easier for them and use their terminology. And yes, to me those against reproductive freedom are not "pro-life" or even "anti-abortion"; they are "anti-choice" and I will always refer to them as such. I refuse to meet the debate on their terms, especially when by their actions on so many other issues they have proven that respect for life is far from an actual concern or priority.

saying someone who is pro choice is pro abortion is like saying an oncologist is pro cancer.

The real issue is to make it really hard for poor women in general and poor women of color specifically to have good reproductive health choices.

Women with means will always be able to act accordingly.

There need to be real economic consequences for retrograde so-called “Red States” who want to enact stupid, punitive laws. For example, companies may find it harder to recruit people if they know that moving there might subject their wives and daughters to medieval theocrats trying to control their lives.
