Vaguely off topic, but kind of on topic, I think this site demonstrates that sexuality is a sliding scale with its percentages of "gay" and "straight"...one bit of man-on-man action does not make a guy gay, no more than one bit of guy-on-girl action would make me straight. :)

That and the fact that this is a rip on Tom Cruise thread, that big butch Scientologist super hero.:biggrin1:

I think it's so bizarre how people have come to rag on TC so much. I don't think he's anywhere as weird as most of the raggers think...it's as if he's a lightning rod for all kinds of frustrations many people have. Personally I'd love to have him sit on my face, but I know that's just wishful thinking!

a friend of mine who used to work in the entertainment industry said that the marriage contract between tome and nicole was exactly that... a contract stating what nicole was entitled to certain things but not other things and that they would be married for an alotted amount of time and after said amount of time they would seperate.
It appeared to be a contractual relationship from the outside, well at least it did to me. Like a marriage that came with a script.

Not unlike the marriage he is in now.

My friend's father met Tom Cruise several times in the 80s. He said Tom Cruise was very gay and very closeted. Tom Cruise allegedly would go to gay bars and try to hide there (i.e., attempt to pick up men while hiding his identity as "Tom Cruise").

Oh jeez.

First, "allegedly" won't automatically get you out of a libel suit.

Second, hiding in gay bars? Really! I think most people on here just wonder if he might get it on with guys occasionally; I don't think many would imagine he actively participates in the gay scene.

It's not that inconceivable.

Cruise wasn't really well known before Risky Business in '83 and didn't really become a star until Top Gun in '86.

I've seen plenty of presumably straight male actors in West Hollywood bars. Most memorably William Shatner, who was a hoot and a half, dressed all in white in some sort of Quentin Crisp getup I guess. It was during LA Gay Pride, and coincidentally in the '80's.

I recall another well known media celeb, married with children, who I saw a couple of times in a hole-in-the-wall gay bar in a major southern city. He was wearing Ray-Bans, which I suppose he thought offered some sort of disguise, but they just made him more conspicuous at night.
