I know a guy who works with a cgi company that contracts with hero movie companies. and the work is definitely to erase the volume of the heroes.

while it's true that mcu movies erase bulges, it's something we can check through behind the scenes footage. example, tenoch in black panther 2. in the movie, smooth crotch, bts footage, has clear bulge.
with tom, his bts pics and vids don't really show any bulge, it's already pretty smooth, and he already mentioned in an interview that he has to wear a dancer's belt, a thong as he calls it, which completely smooths out the bulge. so there's not much of a need to smooth it out in post, because they already have him wear something that hides the bulge

i assume the dancer's belt is about the same level of comfort as any underwear. from what i've read, the spidersuit itself is more of a nuisance, with tom having apparently complained that it's hard to take off and he can't go to the bathroom when he's in it. i think that discussion came out from something about henry cavill having a zipper on the superman suit and tom wishing the spiderman suit had one
