    Ask your MD about them.

The more researching coming out, and that I've read about in medical/kinesiology journals.. is against these kind of things in excessive amounts as they can be damaging your joints.

From a Personal Trainer perspective they're great.. they engage muscles much more intense then regularly standing, and activate stabilizer muscles.

I bought a pair of these: Sketcher's Men's Tone-Ups Trainer Glide I do notice that if I'm on the treadmill, my legs seem a bit less sore when I get off. I also extended the distance I could go to exhaustion by almost a ½ mile as soon as I started wearing them.

I like them, but I just wonder if a better quality running shoe or impact resistant cross trainer would have had the same effect at a slightly lower price.
