His personality has become more abrasive in recent years, but I give him credit for
- being proud to wear thongs 12+ years ago when men didn’t show pictures of themselves wearing thongs

He didn’t glorify it; he just did “announce it as a journey”; he didn’t solicit donations. He just did it.
