Is this true ? I always thought the bigger the better but is this actually a possible problem for some models in the fashion industry ? Anyone in the business to actually know if this even happens ?

Only a rumer, sometimes male models have to wear two pair of briefs to tone it down.

Most people don't get chosen to be a model anyway, so how could anybody know if that was the reason? Could be that a model candidate didn't have "good body proportions?" If they have 1 slot for a model, and 100s of people apply, I suspect most will be rejected, for some reason or another. Maybe they are aiming for a certain demographic, so too old, too young, didn't like that minor blemish, didn't smile just right for the camera, too many models already of a certain skin color to achieve their proper demographic mix as to who they think their customers might likely be.

Yes, I imagine it's possible to be "too endowed" to model underwear. I suspect that every underwear catalog is not aiming for the "soft porn" look. If a model is "too endowed," then if the bulge is a bit "bigger than normal," isn't that going to make potential customers who look at the catalog, feel a bit "inadequate?," and that's not the way to put them into a buying mood. I would guess, that "average," or "slightly above average," is the look they are looking for, although I have no experience in any such job field.

Well, I would assume that they would like someone who doesn't display such a large crotch, think about your public, if these are to be used as editorial or catalog...what are the chances of you buying that piece of underwear if you see a huge massive bulge? Or one that is decently sized and proportioned and looks good in it?
I'd buy the underwear with the guy showing an average bulge, not a massive-sticking-out-barely-able-to-contain itself bulge, but just my 2 cents :D

back in the 1970s, Sears catalog had scandel due to too large of a bulge in briefs. Fyi.

I think it really depends on the brand or store. There are some mens brands out there who clearly wouldn't mind having a massive bulge in their underwear but they're often trying to use sex appeal to sell to gay men instead of just using "fit" men to sell to men in general. For many people there's a threshold that can be crossed where you go from appropriate advertisement to pseudo-pornographic.

I would imagine that it is also regional. I remember when the billboards of David Beckham went up and the internet went nuts over them. Billboards like that would probably never fly in a place like Wisconsin, let alone ones with massive bulges.

That's no light or shadow effect. That's really a penis!

Nowadays, they could just fix that with a little photoshop brush-over.

It probably wasn't even intentional? I imagine the cameraman might not have noticed? Usually they take several pictures, a few seconds apart, I would guess?

But looking at underwear on model, we would expect a little bulge or something. Doesn't look like anything to complain about to me, although some moralists might be right to suspect it could be a "trial balloon," to "push the envelope" and start a trend into moral depravity?

It also looks like "truth in advertising." A guy of a little extra size, could easily hang out of basic boxers, which might be a determinate of whether to wear boxers or "tighty whities," but a little natural hang-out shouldn't be a problem, as underwear is usually worn under pants.

Haven't I seen some women's catalog for whatever related products, that showed exposed breasts, nursing a baby? Oh, that must be okay, the old "double standard," because it's a woman, and women supposedly aren't as "lewd" or perverted as men? Can't remember exactly, as I think it was my Mom's catalog, when I was a kid growing up.

I would imagine that with 2 billion human penises in the world, back then, and now 3.6 billion, it's just a fact of life that a few penises are just going to naturally be a bit "too obvious" sometimes.

Actually, it was a guy hanging slightly out of boxers. I've seen the pic. Somebody wrote a country song about it.

It all depends on who is marketing the underwear.
2Xist would probably prefer the more endowed man.

There website actually seems pretty average bulge wise. Andrew Christian on the other hand is a different story. They emphasize bulge enhancing underwear so it makes sense.

I had a gf who worked for a fashion designer and was very aware of how clothes fit and styles. Once I was walking towards her in my underwear and she mentioned that I could never be an underwear model. I asked her why and she said, "Your cock is way too long. Look at it - it looks like it's ready to burst out." I thought it was a very hot comment on her part.
