7x6andchg: Anyone else ever used the Top 25 Posters tool?

I bring this up because I pulled it up to see where I ranked - and I just passed Finedessert :( ...I'm 4 behind Sammy and 6 behind Gigantikok, and then there's Dee with 100 more than that, and DMW with 2x that, practically...There are only two posters with more than 1000 posts....on this incarnation of the board.

Here's the standings as of today:
DoubleMeatWhopper 1225
jonb 1092
Pecker 966
Hapi Papi 904
DeeBlackthorne 624
gigantikok 527

Anyway - I found it interesting - some of the people on here aren't with us anymore, some don't post often, some post daily..it's quite the cross section of LPSG-land, I thought.

Just a random post....to get me ONE closer to Sammygirly! :D :D

although this way does allow a convenient way to access his last 10 or 50 posts for a long time - until he falls to the bottom of the list.

awellhungboi: whenever somebody passes grandpa's number they should give him a proverbial tip of the hat.

I imagine it would be like when somebody breaks a hall of famer's long-held record--mixed emotions.

Anyway, I've been here since february and I only have about 150 posts! Got to get more talkative!

I've been with LPSG through several incarnations, and have been with this one since it started. I've only got 178 posts, so don't worry....there's plenty of time to be talkative.

Sadly...it kinda comes with the territory...c'est la prix de la vie.

I didn't even check the EZ Board...I'd be inundated in popups before I could get the counts copied to the message! :D

I don't know who invented it, but being a funeral director, death makes me a nice living! However, it is always sad to lose someone you know.

throb919: Paul--kind of chatty today, aren't you? (520, 521, 522...!) The thought of watching you and sammygirly fight it out gives me a voyeuristic thrill. (Damn--another hetero twinge!) Truthfully: reading you both is always a pleasure...

H8Monga: Geez throb... turn off the light when you do that!

*blind*

On my other forum, the guy who had almost 8,000 posts quit.  I think he lurks but he felt he was wasting life away...  I've stalled out under 2,000 and have been passed by two people (one of which posted there like I did here... he came from nowhere).

I'm in no competition with anyone but I do remember being like a post behind Dee and then boom! He was way behind. I think the tipping of the hat is a good idea.

You're a funeral director? God you've got some balls dude! (No puns intended) I could never imagine having that job at all. The thought of that occupation would just make me sick (No offense).

Yes, I'm a funeral director--also called, mortician, undertaker, etc. It freaks a lot of people out when they find out that's my career, but I always tell people, it's not the dead you have to afraid of.....it's the living! You see a lot of different things in this line fo work--you see people at their worst, you can see people at their best.
You see people celebrating someone's life, you see people mourning. I see rich, I see poor, I see country, I see uptown. It's never dull....there is always something new. It's definitely an interesting career.

AnonyMs: It is interesting to note while we women are quite few in number on the board, four of us do claim spots in the top 25.

This remebers me the slogan of a funeral director : « You just die and we'll take care of everything »

@ When I wrote Who the hell invented death ? I had in mind Anatole France's words... to paraphrase him : when God created the world, He did not ask the philosophers and the hommes d'esprit around him for an advice... that is why so many things (seem to) go wrong on this Planet.

Well, Gig, that's not exactly the meat that comes to mind when I think of you...but it is in the right "food group"! ;-) No slight intended...
