This is hard however I'll list five of my favorites - no particular order.

Matinee (1993)
Stay Hungry - (1976) I worked as an extra in this!
Shag (1989)
Amateur Night At The Dixie Bar & Grill (1979)
Delivery Boys (1984)

Picking a top 5 is absolutely impossible for me. Instead I will pick films I have watched many times because of how much I love them.

-Requiem For A Dream
-Girl, Interrupted
-Gone With The Wind
-Rivers Edge
-American Beauty
-40 Year Old Virgin
-Moonstruck
-The Breakfast Club
-Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory
-Fight Club
-Mean Girls
-The Goonies
-A Streetcar Named Desire
-Like Water For Chocolate (the book was better, but I still liked it)

This week it's Gay Pride in Amsterdam/NL and on national TV was again
Brokeback Mountain. Since BBM was missing on the list, I like to add....

This story is unlike any other love story I've seen. Although it has been referred to as a gay cowboy movie, I never once felt as if I were watching a gay movie. Brokeback captures this raw human emotion that is so universal and its put on screen in such a way that it made my heart ache right along with the characters. I think its hard not to feel how deeply Ennis hurts. It got me so bad because I think what he really feels is deep regret and regret is a terrible thing to live with when you know you can't change it.

I also think this story has the power to change hearts and minds. This story truly shows that love is genderless and ageless. Love isn't about gender although we have our preferences but it is about deep shared intimacy with another person, something we all crave.

Respect!

I agree! The Goonies is one of those movies that never gets old in my house. I always loved Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, too (sorry, Johnny). What did you think of the remake?

Oh I haven't seen the remake, I don't get to watch a lot of movies though that's on my list to see one day!:biggrin1: I'm sure it will be no where near as good as the original!!!

It is very difficult to think which 5 movies rank as the best for me, this thread should be broken down by categories such as comedy, drama, action, etc... But seeing as how I`m too lazy at the moment to make such a list I will just list the 5 movies I have seen more often than I can count:

Perfume: The story of a murderer
Predator
The Naked Gun Pt1
Rocky I
Letters from Iwo Jima
