Your reference to the ancient Greek custom of mentors and catamites is valid, so this may just be me succumbing to the urge to split hairs. It's my understanding that anal sex was quite taboo in ancient Greece. Men generally only fucked the asses of slaves or citizens of lesser station that they wished to humiliate. Men who took other men as lovers customarily practiced frottage and intercrural intercourse, which is a clinical sounding term that basically means one man would squeeze his legs together to form a faux vagina and the other man would pump his dick between his lover's thighs.
