Plato said there are two things no one should ever get angry at: what they can change, and what they cannot change. Someone who simply insists on being an asshat falls into the latter category.

In regard to politics specifically, I used to LOVE political discussion and making people consider things they never had before and having the same done to me. For whatever reason, that's just not possible anymore. It's ceased to become debate and has descended into "us vs. them" tribal warfare. There's no point in even trying to bring facts or reason into it because people are going to believe what they want to believe no matter what. Party affiliations may as well be religions at this point.

“But they’re so annoying I have to respond”, you’re doing it to yourself then. Only you control what you read and respond to. It’s a forum of people with all types of personalities. If you choose to insert yourself further into someone’s negativity, it is your own doing not theirs.

We’re all big kids here on a forum, not middle school.
