I've had a dry spell the last few years, but have contacted some old friends in hopes that I can do some catching up. I've had a positive response, but both my friends are fairly large so I thought I would buy a toy to practice with before I see them (I've shrunk a little during my dry spell).

While I was shopping it started me thinking about a few things:

I somehow doubt that. It may feel that way - but I doubt that is what has happened. How do you measure that anyway?

Most of the large dildos / vibes I see are silicone, rubber or similar and yes, they are squishier. My guess (and it is just a guess) is that the girthier the object the harder it is to insert comfortably the more rigid it is, if you follow. Not to mention it feels less pleasant to move on a large, very rigid object (well it does to me). Having a little give is a good thing. Like many women here I have experimented with different kinds of objects - something very hard, like a slender glass or hard plastic container (e.g. perfume bottle) is less pleasant the larger it is. What I see does not appear to be men buying to suit their own fantasies. What I see caters for a broader ranger of needs than what you appear to be seeing. Shop around more. I know they are not cheap but I really like the range offered by Ann Summers. I've shopped online and in store with AS and find the whole thing a very female friendly experience.

Thanks for the advice MB. The stores near me are really pretty basic. They don't tend to have a lot and are definitely not female friendly. I suppose online is the way to go. It's nice to know that there is more variety out there though. Will try Ann Summers.

And I know I haven't REALLY shrunk - but yes, it feels as though I have. I'm going by the fact that the two guys I mentioned in my first post are both over 8 inches (not sure by how much - I'm crap at judging size - I'll post it if I ever ask them) and I used to be able to have sex with them comfortably. Well you got to think that the companies that sell sex toys are in it to make money.
