Lower back tattoo is often referred to as tramp stamp, and it is sometimes associated with promiscuity and perhaps not seen in a positive light, but I am a bottom and I really love the look, but I am really not experienced sexually at all, a lot less than a lot of people even in their 20's, but just would like to get it for the looks more than anything, but I was just wondering if I could ask your guys opinions on

1) Do you find it attractive?
2) Do you think it's a good idea?

Thanks in advance!

In matters of taste, there can be no discussion. If you like it, get one. If others don't like it, they can STFU. It's you, your body, your decision. Personally, I would just suggest you think hard about the design because tastes and interests change. So get something that you think you'll be happy with 20 years from now. Tattoo interest and tastes changes, attitudes about them change. I'd recommend you check out the Vox "Explained" video on Netflix about Tattoos for some fascinating history of different styles and changes in cultural feelings about them... not to persuade or dissuade you, just so that you can see some different thoughts and styles and get some context for what "meaning" some designs have had over the centuries.

I'm in the same boat. I'm thinking of getting one in Latin or Japanese. Kokku Kyuban = Cock Sucker.
Let me correct myself. That means penis sucker. A cock is a rooster.
Do you how you can tell the difference between a penis sucker and a cock sucker? When a penis sucker sneezes he expels cum. When a cock sucker sneezes he expels feathers.

A tattoo is an extremely personal choice, it shouldn’t depend on other people’s opinions (including mine). They’re 1000% welcome to opine on whether they’ll get one on their body but deciding that you should or shouldn’t have one on yours or where you get it is not their decision to make.

Anyone who bitches about yours can be ignored from that point on. They have no respect for you, so return the favour.

My recommendation is to seek out the very best tattoo artist you can find and if it’s pricey, save up for it. Don’t go cheap or with a mediocre artist. Avoid “flash” designs - countless others have got that too, it’s not special.

Talk to your chosen artist and see what he or she might be able to create for you. The good tattoo artists ARE artists, tattoo is simply the medium they’re using. Discuss what you want the tattoo to put across, what theme or style you’d like to see and then let your artist be an artist. You should have already checked out their portfolio and seen if their style suits what you’d like to get.

Make an appointment for a bit later to come in and see what they’ve come up with, figure out if there are any tweaks you’d want to make, find out how long it will take to execute and approximate total costs. Then book a date to come get inked.

So ignore the “tramp stamp” label. That, in my experience, is primarily slapped on Yet Another Tribal Flash design that was very popular with younger females. Or it was when I was in the body art biz.

Get a great custom design by an excellent artist and you’ll never regret it.

And fuck those who think it’s automatically crappy or trashy merely because of its placement. Their opinion is irrelevant; it’s YOUR body, after all.

It may be something you like now but consider whether you will always feel the same way in years to come.

Also imagine how it will look on you as you age.

It’s only the name tramp stamp that makes it unattractive. If you want to own that name, go for it. It’s no one else’s business.

There is a risk that potential partners would be put off. If your personality or looks will get you past that, that would not be a concern.

I like tattoos in general but I think lower back ones are tacky and outdated. However, each to their own. If someone wants to get a tattoo and is 100% sure about it then no one else’s opinion should matter.

If you plan to get many tattoos you should think ahead as it is such a big piece of canvas. A good friend got a small upper arm tattoo and then a few years later wanted to get a full sleeve and then had a hard time incoorporating it. Any tattoo location is fine as long as you like it, but to be honest you're not going to be able to see it much

Things to consider when getting a tattoo:
10 Important Things to Consider Before Getting a Tattoo | Improb
There are some very good points in this article.

Also, lots of inspiration for tattoo ideas here
You searched for tattoo | Improb
There are three pages of LISTS of tattoos, so set aside at least an hour or so to go through them all.

Last, some examples of crazy good back tattoos, just to show what amazing art a tattoo can offer.

And yes, none of these guys will see their tattoos much (except any time they are in front of a mirror and can turn around). Doesn't mean it was pointless to get.

I have what can be considered a tramp stamp. It's a tribal alligator that I got 18 years ago that wraps around from my butt to the front of my pubic v. The tail pokes out over my waistline as does the side, so it often gets some passing viewership and I have received some ignorant comments over the years about it being a tramp stamp and about me being gay and slutty and you name it. So you have to be prepared for that. That being said, almost 2 decades later, I still love it, I think it looks cool and it still carries meaning to me. And I also still find it sexy, as do the guys that I have sex with. I am gay and I am a bottom - I think if you get tattooed, the responses I've had over the years confirm that there is a stereotype that it plays into about being a bottom.
