Yes, you are correct. At it's core, male to female hormone therapy is suppressing testosterone and elevating estrogen. Like older guys who's testosterone levels drop we accept the erectile dysfunction is a part of the process for many, if not most, of us. The part you may be missing is that many, like myself, look forward to being unable to maintain an erection. You'll also notice many trans women in those videos have very small dicks because both the penis and testicles atrophy as the estrogen goes to work making them into the feminine version. I've not done any real research into what you ask as it was simply not n important issue for me. However from what I gather girls who do porn movies will often stop their HRT for some period of time. Assuming they've not had an orchiectomy their stuff goes right beck into male mode. While sterility is a virtual certainty the rest will come back. I'm also aware of a doctor in the Detroit area who has developed a testosterone cream that trans women can apply directly to their junk that will maintain size and function while allowing them to stay on estradiol.

What you have to understand is that HRT is a lifetime program. Without the feminine hormones most of the changes revert back to masculine. It's also worth noting that many, if not most, of us go through electrolysis or laser hair removal which adds to the fem look. Breast development does not revert back to masculine, we keep our boobs. And if started early enough to avoid completing male puberty their body, face and even skeletal structure will more closely resemble cis women than men. It's really not so hard to see how it's done.
