As the wheels towards civil rights continue to move backward this week...
Meet Nikki Araguz, a transgender who is now in a fight to maintain the death benefits of her recently deceased husband named Thomas Araguz. The family of the deceased husband says their son didn't know his wife was originally born a male and wants the marriage dissolved. Eight days after Thomas died battling a fire in Wharton County; his mother filed a lawsuit to block Nikki Araguz from receiving any of his death benefits. Texas law suggests Nikki is not entitled, because she was born as Justin Graham Purdue in 1975, a man.

I agree with the sentiments, although if she lied to her husband, I don't have much sympathy....

It's been on in the newspaper for days here Houston Chronicle, and it says he did know. The family just want the money in my opinion.
