    This could be useful.

    If gay men near the potomac could show that they were producing eggs, that would weaken the reproductively viable argument against gay marriage.

    Oh, they'll just use this and point to radiation et.al. as the cause of homosexuality in humans.

    Yikes.

    BTW--the basis of a lot of Marvel Comic Superheroes (Spiderman, Hulk, X-men, Fantastic Four) rest upon a fear of industrial break-throughs and radiation, etc. being mutagenic to humans.

    Spiderman was bit by a radioactive spider, Hulk exposed to gamma radiation, FF exposed to cosmic rays, many Xmen's parents (Prof X for example) worked in or around industrial centers.

    Unfortunately this is not all that uncommon. The solutions are fairly simple though (despite no one doing a damn thing): first, riparian vegetation within 100-200ft of the water should be mandatory. Second, even simpler, use less fertilizer! It has been proven that farmers can get the same crop yield they are getting now while only using half of the fertilizer.
