Treasure trail / pubic shaving

I occasionally see a shirtless guy where his treasure trail doesn't go all the way down to his pubic area, but stops short. I am of the assumption that hair does not grow like that, and the guy shaved it that way. Am I correct? Is this a good indication he shaves his pubic area?

Mine only goes down just below the navel. Around '04 I noticed a patch near there about the size of nickel that was completely smooth--no hair whatsoever. Was on vacation in Miami Beach when I noticed this and had no idea what could have caused it.

My happy trail also doesn't go all the way down to my pubic hair. It's slowly starting to catch up, but still not quite there.

You'll go crazy trying to figure out why hair does whatever it does. I have friends (adults) who have a naval "halo" of hair, some whose halo points down for about 1/2", some whose halo points up the same amount, and lots whose halo links with their pubic hair.
