I think Trevor Donovan should have been cast as Ken in the new Barbie movie. At least, he should have been one of the many Kens. He could have been cast as "California Ken" or "Surfer Ken". What's funny is he could have been approached to be in the movie but because of the "image" he wants to keep of being straight I wouldn't doubt if he steered clear of the movie to prevent any rumors or assumptions because of his target audience. Would not shock me one bit.

I mean, with the obvious exception of Margot Robbie, getting actors who looked like Barbie and Ken clearly wasn't high on the list of priorities of the casting people. Otherwise we would've gotten people like Gillian Jacobs and Samara Weaving as Barbies, and Zac Efron, Matt Bomer or Trevor as Kens. Instead we have Gosling and, like, Simu Liu??

Gosling is very handsome but he does NOT look like Ken whatsoever. He's UNCONVENTIONALLY handsome. Ken should have been played by a convetionally handsome actor/model like Trevor, Matthew Noszka or Pierson Fode. It's not like this movie is going to require superb acting skills either.
