You forgot that every time you ask for something, you use the objective case of we and speak as if you are asking for something on behalf of a group of people... "Give us a beer mate"

I will never forget the first time someone from Australia asked me fro something... I was looking around for his friends... and was like "Us?"

Why is it that when aussies speak your voice tails up at the end of every sentence as though you're asking a question? I notice it all the time!
I've heard its a sign of insecurity. Just saying....!

And you can't pay Australians to drink Fosters.

VB is #1.. but last I checked... they are (and have always been) under the Foster's Group.

Aussies are very regional with their beer.... Swans vs. VB vs. Coopers (i like) vs XXXX vs Tooehey (sp?)

Also, the alcohol content across Australian beers has reached an all-time low. Seems the Budweisers of the world have some influence (actually from tax laws).

Hate to be a wanker. But it's Norman Gunston, Number 96, and Aerogard.

As we say in the Aerogard ads, 'avagoodweegend.

HB8

P.S. For extra points. The super-vixen Abigail from Number 96 played opposite noted actor Graeme Blundell in which movie? And, importantly, what car did he drive?

It's quite common in England too, although I've found it regional. Gollum also used the device, although he had other reasons!

Also, I like Australians, the ones I've met anyway.

Aaahhhh, it was a one word name. It'll come to me in a minute.

It was something Purple.

Yonkers has it right. It was Alvin Purple. There was a sequel called Melvin, son of Alvin. The original was no masterpiece, but the sequel was truly awful.

Now...what car did he drive?
