They're not perfect but at least an improvement on what used to be around. At least you guys in the states can walk into any store and buy them whereas here in the UK you generally have to go to specialists. Places like Boots or supermarkets obviously just don't thing anyone has a larger than average penis over here.

considering that the average condom can role over and up an adult mans hand and wrist...I would say MOST of the large condoms are more for ego than actual size requirements

So true! But I still find regular condoms to tight! My friend who is 5.25 in girth...finds them just right...and my other friend who is 5.5" girth too tight too!

I'm what you would call considerably above-average, but I don't think of myself as huge.

Lifestyles and such always cut the base of my dick off, and left a red ring of death to remind me of the discomfort I was in for 45 minutes. I'd have to pry it off with two hands, even though there was only an 1"-1.5" buffer zone between my pelvis and the condom ring.

I've never tried a Trojan, but I'm willing to bet I'd at least feel some extra room. I'm obviously not qualified to be condemned to normal size condoms, whatever the hell that means. I think that Trojans Magnums and XL's are just giving a little more space for people in the 6.5-8" range. The way that condoms stretch though, it could obviously fit a longer one, it just wouldn't reach all the way to the bottom. There's no reason for it too.

Basically, they know that some dude with a shit-eating grin on his face is going to walk in and purchase the condom thinking he's hot shit. In actuality, I think I should start using them, and I don't think I have a donkey dick, to put it bluntly.

Quite a marketing ploy, if you ask me.

Exactly, I used Lifestyles Ultra Sensitive and they are just too tight throughout the whole condom. I think a member here commented that they are bigger in the glans area, that is not the case, please measure it! They also cut into my base, and my shaft felt as if it was being squeezed to death..ouch! I use Torjan XL's and was a magnum user before.

I've tried Magnum XL they didn't work well for me. The extra length was nice but the issue for me is circumfrence. I have a big mushroom head and a regular condom squeezes the head. The compression of a regular condom, while not painful, tends to num the nerve endings in the penis head taking a lot of the joy out of sex. The Lifestyles Ultra are almost 3 inches wide at the head and taper down to a standard size at the base. They aren't as long as the Magnum XL's so they don't roll down to the base of my dick but they don't compress and num the head. They don't cost as much as Magnum XL's either.

Lifestyles are too tight, they are the smae size as a regular condom. They actually are suppsed to be more snug so that you experience more feelings from them (like your wearing nothing)! I know, I used to wear them, but they caused my glans to be squeezed and my shaft and base to feel like it was going thru a wringer. They are the smae size as any other "regular" condom. My one friend enjoys using them because he is a little above average in length and it fits him well there, but his girth is 5.25 (which is above average) but they seem to grip him prety well without any pain. If you bigger than 7" or have a girth larger than 5.5, you should switch condoms.

That sounds correct!

Once I slipped on the Trojan XL, man was I hooked. It went on easier and was smooth. It seemed to grip better at the base of the shaft. I've never had any breakage or slipping off, and sometimes my wife and I have a little rough sex. Thrusting in and out has not been any problems since going to the larger Trojans. Somehow, they also seem to give better piece of mind since they are larger. Sounds silly, but true. I just enjoy them! I usually order via mail and get 2 to 3 dozen at a time.

Regular width condoms usually tear while being installed!
I love the choice word "installed". You simply put a condom on an average penis, but you install a condom on a large penis. :biggrin1:

You guys are right! My mistake. Lifestyles Dual Pleasure are the ones with the big head. Not Lifestyles Ultra. I looked at the wrong box. Sorry about that.

:smile::smile::smile:LOL!

I worked for the evil empire for a while(Wal-Mart)
Seemed like every guy that came threw bought MagnumXL. Trogan's making a fortune because every guy buys these things and they all cant be big. Its funny because women always buy regular Trogans.

Yes these are total hype, I bought a dozen of them because I thought they were actually EXTRA Large they are extremely difficult to get on my penis. I think they are solely to make avg guys feel larger!

Has anyone elss noticed that the TROJAN Extra Large condom really isn't that much bigger than a regular size condom...? It's about 1 inch longer, and just a little bit wider. I think this really is designed to give average size guys the impression that they qualify as "Extra Large"...any thoughts...?

The extra inch in length/decimal girth increase is actually A LOT when the condom is stretched/being used. Most other condoms (especially regular European ones) are TINY compared to Magnum XL's.

well, i dont think i qualify as extra large, being a white guy and all but, the XL's are a better fit. they dont crush me and they break less often. as far as length they seem the same size. i just think the diameter is bigger as is the head.

magnum is definitely not a gimic.

I tried them this past weekend versus the regular size and slightly plus sized condoms i was using. Wow, that seemingly insignificant bit helped. The actual condom is much more spacious througout the body. felt tight, like a normal condom at the base, but the important part of the penis was much more "comfortable" i no longer looked like a processed sausage. Great stuff. everything felt more visceral, raw, and fun.

I think lots of normal guys buy them that dont really need them.

I do find them easier to roll ver my big mushrrom head and they dont squees the life out of my dick either. There tight, but regular condoms actully hurt me.

I used Trojan Magnums for a long while, never bothering to try the XL, but I tried the XL recently and was happier with it. I have not tried the Trojan Large or the Durex XXL because I've read that they're for long cocks that aren't very thick. I'm 8" long and 6" around, although I'm wider from left to right than front to back and that has proven to make a difference when it comes to condoms. So girth of the condom is what's important to me, which is why I haven't bothered with the Large or Durex XXL. I have some observations about the difference in the way the two fit.

I tried the Magnum XL at the suggestion of a girl I was having sex with at the time. The regular Magnum has a very even width across the entire thing and it felt uniformly snug and no part of it moved at all during sex. I was personally okay with that because it made me feel secure in the knowledge it wasn't going to fall off and create an unsafe situation (that's a real mood killer). What she told me is that women are used to the feeling of the skin on the penis shifting back and forth during sex, so the Magnum's lack of movement made it feel to her like I had a condom on. The Magnum XL has more of a flared shape to it, it's tighter at the base of my cock and definitely leaves a mark after I pull it off.

At first I was a little disturbed by the movement of the condom on my cock and pulled out momentarily only to find that the base stayed secure and it was just the rest of it that stretched and slid, the condom had not broken either. That was what sold me on the XL.

The length felt the same, perhaps it could have been a little bit longer but it wasn't visibly noticeable, if anything the slightly extra length provided that nice slipping action. That same girl told me she liked the XL much more, it didn't feel to her as if I had a condom on because of the small amount of slip. I was a little bit bothered by how tight it is at the base but since it feels better for the women I've had sex with since the switch I'm okay with it. I mean if it's tighter at the base then that's just like having a built-in cock ring.

I'd say if I were 6.5" in girth and beyond at the base I might have had a bigger problem with the XL, but that amount of girth is pretty much a universal problem for condoms anyways.

After making a switch I can't claim to want my cock to be any bigger, it's not so long that it pokes the cervix and if it were any thicker then condoms I think would be a problem. Ultimately, I would be unhappy if my safe sex choices were limited due to the size of my cock.

I've had a brush with the possibility of having contracted an STD, thankfully everything turned out negative, so it gave me a dose of reality I needed to face. If you're a single guy like me that hopes to one day have that girl of your dreams that you spend the rest of your life with and breed some more humans, an occurrance like that can be really scary. So yeah, even though I'm an LPSG member and I've seen cocks way bigger than mine on this board I'm not the least bit jealous because I have more safe sex options.

My advice is, if the regular Magnum is snug enough not to slip at all, try the XL. It'll be slightly tighter at the base and that slight slippage of the rest of it will feel weird at first but actually make sex more enjoyable. If you need to be really sure, try one during masturbation then if all goes well try it with your partner and I'm pretty certain they'll enjoy it more.

Ugh, sorry about the bits of insensitivity in that post, I shouldn't have made it so straight-centric.

yeah, definitely not a gimmick. i tried on a few regular condoms before i was sexually active, just to get the hang of it (no pun intended), and they were painfully tight. couldn't even get them all the way on before i had to take it right off. then i found Magnums (oddly enough, after i'd become sexually active), and those rolled on a bit more comfortably but still a bit too snug and i could never cum during sex because they would squeeze my cock so tightly. then i tried on my first XL and it felt great. comfort, but still snug enough not to slip off and i could actually have an orgasm with them on!

so, no, not a gimmick at all.

To a comment early on about a regular condom being able to fit over the hand and up the wrist: your hand and wrist have bone and muscle tissue in them that the penis lacks. Slam your hand in a car door and it will hurt less because it becomes compressed less; now slam your penis in there while erect. I don't actually recommend testing that, but hopefully it gets the point across.

For a man with a large girth, a magnum or magnum xl will be easier to get on. The ring that goes on first is a bit bigger which will expand more than that of a standard condom. Notice however that the ring on a magnum and magnum xl is the same size. As pointed out by others, 0.5 to 1 inch unstretched IS a major difference when actually used. Try filling both with water and I bet you'll notice quite a bit of difference at the end. (That test I will recommend).
