There is a troll who recently joined and is trying to drive "discussion" his way. HE IS WINNING. Don't follow him, no matter how shiney the object he swings in your face. By responding to every thread/post he makes, he wins. He is leading the folks of LPSG by the nose. Trolls thrive on attention. Trolls wither and die from lack of attention.

I dunno, we have the ignore button for a reason.

TBH, I find him entertaining enough to toss the occasional response, so he is not on my ignore list.

That's contrasted w/ some other people who don't really debate so much as roll through tossing out some slurs and linking stuff that doesn't even rise to the level where I could call it garbage.

I don't know who this troll is, and don't particularly care, but, with all due respect, you must be new here.

Things like diversity (of thought, at least), tolerance, and inclusion are absolutely NOT what the politics forum is about. Perhaps things have changed, but, given the riff rad who I've seen respond here, I'd bet all my chips against it.

Clearly, this community is intolerant.

Wait so you come to the site tossing conspiracy theories left and right without an ounce of evidence to back it up then go on to insult anyone who disagrees with you or even begins to ask for proof of what you say and clearly this community is intolerant? Aren't you the same guy supporting a guy who sexually assaulted women, called for a ban on all muslims, said stop and frisk was a good thing, literally tossed around the idea of his opponent being shot, casually talked about killing innocent people, wants america to go back to it's trickledown economics days where the middle class got it's ass handed to it, attacked a mexican american judge just because they were mexican american, has mike pence as his vp who has repeatedly attack gay people, wants to build a wall on the border to keep the "rapists and drug dealers" out, wanted to casually hand out nukes like halloween candy, suggested a foreign government should hack an american, made fun of a disable person, insulted both the military and prisoners of war, threw his own daughter under the bus when it came to sexism and generally attempts to offend every living person he comes in contact with.

LPSG is a very tolerant society. sadly though I find it that the members who bash, ridicule and constantly post about he evil of other members and their beliefs, are the first to cry intolerance when they get called out about it. ( Political bashing is still bashing )

The political threads have never been a place where I frequent when I visit, though I must admit that some of the 2016 election did occasionally catch my eye.

Members who constantly post threads often multiple threads a day and each thread having only one constant binding thought, to poke fun and denigrate those those who oppose their political views. They go on to challenge any who oppose their views, some time for dayssss. Usually just as one thread starts to cool off another one will start hoping to incite yet another round of one sided postings.

To the members who do mental battles with these Troll Members, Either take the advice of the OP and let them die off by not replying; or take the advice of other members and place them on ignore.

I never called anyone anything. I said there is a troll at LPSG. I gave what my experience is on how to best deal with trolls. My advice still stands. It works with all trolls.

You're setting a troubling precedence, poor example, and opening the door for members to create threads to bash people they don't agree with. Not saying you don't have a right to call out a troll but that should be done in the offending thread or addressing a specific post. Creating an entire thread makes you the troll, bully, and provides a platform for harassment.

Do you have the support of the other moderators or have you just gone drunk with power rogue on this?

I have not done that. You're lying.

Some or, rather, many in this community don't want to hear the TRUTH. So, when someone like me comes along and posts truthful information that casts, for example, Hillary in a less than glorious light, the left here comes out and attacks me, as you have just done. I don't mind. That's what the left does. I just like to expose the left for the lying, hateful, intolerant members here that they are. The reader can decide for themselves who is reasonable and who is unhinged.

Funny thing is... I didn't know from Indy's post who the troll might be, but based on the responses, I have an opinion about it now.

If nothing else, the Trump effect(s) are going to continue long after Trump is gone. Decades from now, people will still use stream of conscious and immediate denial or questioning in order to give it the appearance of an reasoned opinion or fact.

Oh well... life goes on.
