grammar and intelligence are not mutually exclusive.
many Mensa members speak gibersih, are they idiots?
what would you think of a guy like Stephen Hawking, if you had never heard of him and met him after his battery in his speech/typing PC assistant had died? would you consider him an idiot too?

First and foremost, I would think there's something physically wrong with him, as anyone would.

That you would compare Hawking's medical condition to one's inability or refusal to respect their brain is the real insult.

but would you attack his POV because of his inability to communicate like you want people to? (or only if he was a liberal?)

I would not have a conversation with Mr. Hawking if his speaking device were broken/on the fritz. Mainly because I don't think he'd be able to have a conversation. IF he could, I would try my absolute damnedest to listen to whatever he was saying.

He would probably be trying to say "stop the grammar crap, put the Universe aside for a moment, and, could one of you good fellows run to the shop and get me a couple of batteries please"

why not do the same for everyone?

Because, like it or not, we all make judgments, usually on first impressions. Mr. Hawking happens to have a stunning resume that precedes him. No person in his or her right mind would argue otherwise. AM, on the other hand, has nothing from which to base judgment other than what is put forth on this site. And since I can't judge someone's intelligence/worth in a debate based on pictures of him fellating, I go by what he posts on the political forums. Everything I've seen leads me to believe he lacks a desired level of intellect, at least as it relates to legitimate debate.

Hawking's inability to, shall we say, communicate naturally speaks to a physical ailment. I've no reason to believe AM has such a malady...just a lack of intelligence.

how can you have a first impression on a celebrity? pretend you knew nothing of mr hawking and met him on the bus... would you give him the same respect?

you are prejudging and dismissing someones POV based on their grammar. "people that cant spell and use punctuation properly are stupid and should not be allowed to discuss politics or vote."
its basically as bad as being a actual racist. "darkies are stupid, they should not discus politics or vote."

For the last time, I'm NOT dismissing AM's POV, I'm stating that his blatant lack of intelligence is likely to cause me to grant it less legitimacy than someone who could present an argument in a higher quality manner.
