How isn't it? Being gay doesn't even mean you HAVE to enjoy penetrative sex. Sides are a thing (ie guys who don't enjoy topping or bottoming). It's not an inherent part of being gay, so yes the question is the same. Lol

I guess the straight version would be asking a guy if he likes to get pegged. It doesn’t cross people’s minds to ask because they can make a pretty good guess unless something would suggest otherwise. But topping and bottoming aren’t what I’d call “sexual positions“ per se, in that context.
