The HBO pay channel is featuring a series titled True Blood.

It's produced by Alan Ball who produced another great favorite of mine Six Feet Under.

I can tell you that I'm addicted to the new show. It has all the melodrama and intrigue of a Dark Shadows with a budget. The star of the thing is Anna Paquin famous for winning her oscar at ten for The Piano.

Last night's episode was so racy it was a feast for the eyes. Plus they're really beginning to develop the characters in more depth.

Any other devotées?

I love True Blood! I was a little worried that the new characters would muddy up the show, but it has gotten much better.

I had no idea that Daphne was working for Marianne... though I wonder how she survived the slashing even though it appeared Sookie would have died.

Paquin's performance is so good. And the Englishman who plays Jason Stackhouse (with the body that won't quit) is so good at a southern accent you'd never guess for a moment he's Australian (Bill Compton [Stephen Moyer] is English).

I have no idea who's doing the accent coaching but it's incredible.

Not last night's show but the previous I began to think "this is getting too involved" but last night's episode put all that to rest. I love the whole "God Hates Fangs" undercurrent too. It's brilliant.

Don't you think inwait8 that it must be the same way Sookie survived... vampire intervention?

My wife and I are avid fans. I am thinking about moving down to the delta region. It seems like you can really be yourself down there and no one will bother you. This is important if you are non-human sentient species.

I'm afraid a bit about the number of subplots too Industrialsize..

But last night's episode was largely redeemed by Sookie and the other mortal getting hurled into the basement at that church.

The other thing that needs to be resolved is; I WANT MY OLD SNIDE LAFAYETTE BACK.

"Here, have some AIDS burgers!" (to the rednecks at Sam Merlotte's)

This scared shitless one just isn't working for me but the new deal selling "v" may change all that. I gotta say I look forward to it all week and watch it on "on demand" easily three more times each week.

FYI There will be a new soda on the market in September called True Blood. Alan Ball says it's supposed to be the same as the fake blood the main character drinks. A 4 pack will be 16.00

It's a very international cast with Paquin having been born in Canada and raised in New Zealand. And please don't forget my fave, Alexander Skarsgard (Eric Northman)...he's Swedish and has done tons of Swedish-language movies. (Love the series, but this whole Maryann, et al., thing has me a bit puzzled...although I'm sure it will sort out in the next few episodes.)

Is Eric the mole? Why did he send for Bill's maker to show up in Texas?

I knew that Jason was gonna bang Sarah and the fact it was in the church made it better.

Now that Sookie is in the basement with Isabellas human, do you think they're going to get it on?

Poor LaFayette, the boy has been scared shitless and now that Erics bitch whats her name, told him to sell 'V' again has got him all worked up. I think there is going to be a big Eric presence in the next few episodes.

And what of poor Sam. Bless his heart. Taken by yet another woman.

Oh yeah, and poor horny Hoyt. Didn't he get all over his Mama for cutting his phone off?

i knew that she was, i just had a feeling... but this next few episodes are gonna be great! i was also wondering how she got healed. it could be what the other guy said, vampire intervention or Marieanne might have healed her someway

Remember back in Season One when Bill explains to Sookie how he was turned. We see Lorena living in the Little House on the Prairie (or in this case bayou) as a "widow" when Bill happens by on his way back home to his family in Bontemps at the close of the Civil War. Apparently Vamps are extremely adaptable in both appearance and customs (except for Bela Lugosi)...but guess they have to be since they're immortal. I don't remember the widow being at all attractive--was it a different actor? But to answer your question of "why?"--I suspect Eric wants Sookie to be his fangbanger...so Lorena will complicate matters between Bill and Sookie.
