Trump And Iran

Trump reneging on the Iran deal and placing sanctions on them has done nothing but make things worse. Which, of course, was 100% predictable. He had little choice to withdraw since his mission is to undo everything Obama down to bike lanes at the White House.

It’s hard to overstate what a total failure Trump’s Iran policy has been: Nuclear program resumed. Regional provocations escalated. US isolated.

This is what happens when your foreign policy is based on Obama hatred, stuff you can shout to the goobers at your MAGA rallies, Saudi Royal Family interests, and magical right wing thinking that has no basis in reality whatsoever.

Do note conservatives that decry "violence" in the US have no problems with this kind of violence and murder.

BREAKING: Pentagon launched airstrike that killed Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani, Defense Sec. Mark Esper says.

Esper said Thursday night that Soleimani was "actively developing plans" to attack US troops and diplomats. The killing of a senior figure linked to Tehran’s support for foreign proxy groups is certain to heighten tensions between the United States and Iran. This breaking story will be updated.

An airstrike near the Baghdad airport has killed Iranian Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani and another senior Iranian-linked figure in Baghdad, Iraqi state television reported Thursday.

No one immediately asserted responsibility for the strike, which Iraqi television said also killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, an Iraqi militia commander. But the death of Iran’s most revered military leader appeared likely to send tensions soaring between the United States and Iran.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The commander of Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps was killed early Friday in a drone strike at Baghdad International Airport that was authorized by President Trump, American officials said.

The commander, Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani, and several officials from Iraqi militias backed by Tehran were killed when an American MQ-9 Reaper drone fired missiles into a convoy that was leaving the airport.

General Suleimani was the architect of nearly every significant operation by Iranian intelligence and military forces over the past two decades, and his death was a staggering blow for Iran at a time of sweeping geopolitical conflict.

How about a little history lesson:

Donald J.Trump Tweets

Nov. 29, 2011: “In order to get elected, Barack Obama will start a war with Iran.”

Oct. 6, 2012: “Now that Obama’s numbers are in a tailspin watch for him to launch a strike in Libya or Iran. He is desperate.”

Oct. 22, 2012: “Don’t let Obama play the Iran card in order to start a war in order to get elected – be careful Republicans!”

Yeah a few things.

1. He hasn't started a war yet, he bombed them. Justifiably so.

2. Iran won't be able to do shit.

3. Obama promised to bring our troops home, and didn't. He lied.

4. Obama bombed 7 countries in 6 years and invaded Syria.

5. Under no circumstances would I vote for Trump if we invaded Iran on a large scale (Operations w/ Special Forces, I don't care)

6. Trumps numbers are fine and he is going to get reelected when the witch hunt is over.

They. Fund. Terrorists. I. Don't. Care.

I'm sure you must have been equally down on the criminal president Reagan's illegal funding of the contra terrorists, who murdered so many people but, being right wing, were the right type of terrorists?

What a pathetic response. But no, I don't support that.

Polls show that the rest of the world, friend and foe alike, consider the United States to be the greatest threat to peace and stability on the planet. So here we are, reaffirming that view yet again. Three years ago, we had a nuclear deal with Iran and things appeared to be settling down. Now, acting unilaterally, we've once again plunged that part of the world into chaos to prop up our fading imperial dreams.

Why do they hate us? Let us count the ways.

Exactly, Sargon. Like I said in another thread, he's fucked things up in the region, then wants credit for shit he's done to repair it. And it's WAY too early to tell WHERE that will lead us.

As for Obama "lying" about bringing troops home, so has TRUMP. Worse still, he abandoned American allies, the Kurds, on the battlefield, let Turkey and Putin roll right in, laughing all the way, then sent Americans to guard some fkng oil.

He's a real American HE-ro.

As was predicted the November 9, 2016 the US and indeed the world will never recover from the Trump presidency. He's lite the region on fire again. Oh and never mind Iraq is a mess thanks to a previous republican president.

1. U.S. relations with Iran since 1979.
2. Iran's sponsorship of terror worldwide since at least 1993.
3. Qassem Soleimani's history in the M.E. and even Iran itself.

The Belt and Road initiative is pretty much in place and will make the US pretty much irrelevant in Asia. They will not use the US $ in this trading area. I don't think they have any need for Saudi Arabia either. But Iran is a key link in this policy, hence my opinion that the US is trying to start a proxy war.

There is a major shift in Global Power happening and it is not being done in a way that would normally justify counter military action.

Trump Just Declared War on Iran
There’s no other way to look at the killing of Qassem Soleimani.

The United States is now at war with Iran.

This is the inescapable result of President Donald Trump’s order to assassinate Major General Qassem Soleimani, commander of Iran’s Quds Forces, arguably the most powerful military leader in the Middle East and the most important person in Iran, except for the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

You don’t deliberately kill someone like Soleimani unless you’re at war with his country; and even then, you want to think long and hard before you do, given the near-certainty of blowback. The blowback may soon be coming. Friday morning, Khamenei called for three days of national mourning and a “forceful revenge.” It would be shocking if he didn’t follow through.
