There's quite a bit of diversity among the various Islamic countries; it's worth looking into.

As for Trump, a president who spews hateful, divisive rhetoric is dangerously irresponsible. That's true no matter how many (or how few) violent acts can be traced directly back to him.

Diversity amongst various Islamic countries? You are being deliberately evasive. There may he pockets of diversity but Islam is not remotely diverse and you know it. Poorly played.

Can you tell me the difference between Trump’s divisive rhetoric and say AOC’s divisive rhetoric? Or Kamala Harris’ divisive rhetoric? I don’t see much.

I think that this sick animal here in New Zealand gained lots of inspiration from a lot of areas that matched his values and ideals, no different from all extremists of all races and religions and culture.

We the moderate majority should be worried and deeply concerned about extremism on all sides, and that social media can be used for good, but then also evil. The delivery of the attack is somewhat irrelevant (ambulance at the bottom of the cliff scenario, and that rifle magazines over 5 rounds are banned in NZ since the 1990's, but he still got his hands on high capacity magazines) , what we need to stop is the ideal of there being more than one race, other than the human race.

Difficult times ahead regardless of skin color, sexual organ or any other ways people are grouped or discriminated against.

Need to be tougher on those people that hate for these reasons above and on not that of individual character.

Anyhow, that's my thoughts (rant) of what's happening here after what's "stolen our country's innocence".

OK, fine . . .

If a terrorist draws inspiration from a few barbaric passages in a centuries-old book, I’m not going to blame that on a billion current Muslims, the overwhelming majority of whom live unassuming, peaceful lives.

On the other hand, if a terrorist draws inspiration from the recent, hate-filled rhetoric of the most powerful political leader on the planet, I’m much less inclined to give that leader a pass.

But that’s just me.

The pathetic attempts on the part of the USUAL defenders of right winged hate filled demagoguery to DENY AND DISMISS it via Islamophobic references and whataboutisms would be almost laughable, if not for the sickly twisted rationale they employ, or the seriousness of the rise and spread of their hate based sentiment.

Though, coming from those who've LONG ignored the evidence, IF not having given tacit approval, NOT much of a surprise.

Btw, here's an interesting article that perhaps explains SOME of what we've seen herein:

Australia racism and white supremacy: Brenton Tarrant and Fraser Anning were produced by the same culture.

"Anning—the Aussie Steve King, perhaps—is a now-independent senator who is too racist even for the extremely racist party that elected him. Elected in 2017 as a One Nation party replacement candidate (after “free speech” crusader Malcolm Roberts was caught up in the citizenship debacle), Anning chose to sit as an independent, then opted to join another fringe party, until he was kicked out of that one too, for his infamous speech calling for a “final solution” to the Muslim immigration problem.

His latest comments have been roundly condemned by everyone in Australian politics—by the prime minister, the recent ex–prime minister, the soon-to-be prime minister. Prime Minister Scott Morrison tweeted that Anning’s comments were “disgusting” and “have no place in Australia, let alone the Australian Parliament.”

Of course, they shouldn’t have a place—but they do.

Anning and Tarrant may be extremists, but they are extreme representatives and undeniable products of a racist Australian culture—one that is at best quietly tolerated and at worst wildly stoked by politicians, not to mention a Rupert Murdoch–fueled mass media. Whether it’s demonizing asylum-seekers, demonizing African youths, demonizing Indigenous Australians, or demonizing Muslims, racism is insidious in the mainstream culture."

Lmao this isn’t even worth debating. You’re just flat out wrong.

So, you believe that 49 innocent people being murdered, many of them dying in agony, is an appropriate segue to presenting your negative opinions on Islam and Muslims?

Classy.

If 49 innocent Christians were gunned down in a church in Kansas tomorrow, would that be an appropriate time for me to vent my opinions about intolerance amongst American Christians?

Your timing and wording is proof that you’re not trying to initiate an intelligent debate about legitimate issues in the Muslim community. You’re simply using the opportunity to air your own personal hatred.

At least now he has found something else to obsess over rather than the conniption fits he was having over us in the United States CONSIDERING adopting the "green new deal" or parts thereof because even though it would in no way apply to him, his country and in NO way REQUIRE his countries government to adopt any part of it or even consider doing so he "just knows" that that is what would happen because apparently the government THEY ELECT would be powerless to resist doing so.

1. Christians being murdered by Muslims doesn’t even get acknowledged by mainstream media.

2. You people never speak about intolerance bred by Islam

3. You’ll use any situation to blame trump.

I’ve already made a point about the hypocritical reactions in this thread. I have nothing further to say.

And it's all about skin color, although they yap about Western culture. You don't see them at Shakespeare plays, the opera, the symphony, do you?

The arsenal and clothing of the man accused of killing 50 people in attacks on two New Zealand mosques was covered in symbols and writing. Some were references to Adolf Hitler; elsewhere, he invoked the names of other mass shooters.

But many of the more obscure references were clear to medieval historians. It’s a pattern they have seen repeated by white supremacists, white nationalists and neo-Nazis again and again in recent years — at Charlottesville’s deadly Unite the Right rally, at a conference sponsored by alt-right leader Richard Spencer, and by the man in Portland, Ore., who allegedly killed two people after harassing a woman wearing hijab.

They’re using their messed-up concept of the Middle Ages as a recruitment tool, and that’s a huge problem,” says Paul B. Sturtevant, author of “The Middle Ages in Popular Imagination” and editor in chief of the Public Medievalist.

The accused New Zealand shooter and an all-white Europe that never existed

Shitposting...

“It’s Like a Virus”: Fighting the Hate that Fueled the New Zealand Massacre Requires a Global Response – Mother Jones

"The massacre that left at least 49 people dead and scores of others wounded in New Zealand this week highlights the white nationalist movement, as well as its grim online ecosystem, is not just an American phenomenon—it’s an interconnected global ideology.

The shooter left behind a manifesto rife with the kind of online-style “shitposting” and rhetoric espoused by the resurgent white nationalist movements that have taken hold in the US, Europe, and beyond."

And as if to EMPHASIZE the point above:

New Zealand Mosque Shooting Suspect Smirks, Flashes White Power Sign In Court | HuffPost

On the OTHER hand, sometimes virulent acts of hate bring out the humanity in the REST of us:

A Pittsburgh Jewish Group Is Raising Money for New Zealand’s Muslim Community – Mother Jones

"When a gunman killed 11 people at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh last October, Muslim groups quickly launched a crowdfunding campaign to help shooting victims, raising more than $200,000 in just four days.

Now, Time reports, the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh is responding in kind by raising funds to support the Muslim community in New Zealand affected by the massacre that killed 49 and left dozens more wounded on Friday."

Foxy News sells hate, lies, and insane conspiracy theories and Trump, of course, loves it and wants more. Trump sees a fellow bigot in trouble.

Jeanine Pirro, the Fox News Channel host and former prosecutor, was absent from her usual slot in the network’s Saturday night prime-time lineup — and her most powerful viewer was not happy about it.

Fox News bumped the show a week after it publicly condemned Pirro’s on-air suggestion that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) did not support the U.S. Constitution because she is Muslim and wears a hijab.

Bring back @JudgeJeanine Pirro,” President Trump tweeted Sunday morning.

Trump accused Pirro’s critics of waging “all out campaigns” against Pirro and fellow Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who was widely rebuked after decade-old racist, misogynistic and homophobic comments resurfaced last week. Both of their comments prompted some advertisers to boycott the shows.

“Stop working soooo hard on being politically correct, which will only bring you down,” Trump said in another tweet, before issuing a curiously dire warning to “Be strong & prosper, be weak & die!”

No surprise on my part. Between Foxy News and Trump the #1 export is coming home.

Exactly, Sargon. NO surprise. We've only been talking about the EVIDENT and OBVIOUS RISE of such sentiment since the start of Obama's PRESIDENCY.

The only difference between then and the coming of Trump being that, before, the right still were able to CLAIM "plausible deniability."

The New Zealand mosque attacks show we need a global fight against right-wing terrorism.

Your post isn’t really true at all. Islam does not accept diversity at all and those billion “ peaceful” Islamics have done nothing to quell state/religious sponsored violence in their own countries.

Tying Trump to a maniac shooter in NZ is also bullshit. I guarantee Trump will be gone in 2-6 years, but Islamic violence against diversity will live on as far as the eye can see.
The Bible also stated that races should be separate. It justified slavery.

Are we to live off what an old book said? You do know that everything there is open to interpretation, don't you?

Trump is to be tied to the "maniac" because he is supposed to be a leader. Someone who is supposed to be looked up to as how to properly behave. He spouts the same words as the "maniac". The "maniac" heard a world leader saying the same things he said.

Just one more to the pile of lies. As long as he keeps hating the same minorities(sexual, religious and racial) that his base hates he’ll be golden. If he shoots one on Fifth Avenue not only will he not lose a vote but his approval numbers will in all likelihood rise in that reptile regressive party of his.
