Were talking fucking ALT Right Nazis. They've been pretty mouthy since Asshole took office back in January. I will never side with them, Fuck them. To side with them in any fashion, even when they're getting their asses kicked is un American. That's what's usually happens when you properly deal with Nazis. That's why we stormed the beaches of Normandy. Because of fucking Nazis. Siding with them is a complete slap in the face to our military, and our allies who fought cock suckers like these assholes back in WWII.

The reason why Trump is more inclined to side with these sorts (neo-nazis, separatists, supremacists et al) goes beyond the fact that he knows they make up a good portion of his base of support. It is because their ideology and the premises behind it is not dissimilar to what Trump himself believes.

Early in his campaign, I was under the mistaken impression that he was just telling his constituency what they wanted to hear. Just selling them a bill of goods. However considering what I've learned of things he'd said and done on past occasions, seeing what he's done since occupying the White House and who he's surrounded himself with I firmly believe that HE IS of this kind of mentality.

Which explains why he is quite apparently awkward at saying things he doesn't feel or mean, like that bullshit phony condemnation of nazis and supremacists on yesterday, yet can be so glib and off the cuff when expressing the kind of narrow minded hate filled shit that inspires those of like mind.

And the damage he's doing, plans on doing, and ALREADY has done (all quiet and undercover-like) to laws and matters of concern to many, is JUST as harmful as his appeal and encouragement of hate based, supremacist elements in our society has been.

Donald Trump is trying to reverse Obama's legacy through legal battles

"From affirmative action and immigration to voting rights and LGBT protections, the Trump administration is switching sides in some of the nation's most consequential legal battles.

In the space of 12 days recently, the Justice Department said civil rights laws do not protect gays and lesbians from workplace discrimination and voting rights laws do not prevent states from cleansing registration rolls of non-voters. In between, it indicated it may fight, rather than defend, affirmative action policies at colleges and universities.

That followed similar about-faces in... immigration, health care and climate change initiatives.

Trump also has flipped the government's position in lesser-known court fights over workers' rights, women's rights and transgender rights."Many of these changes are not just changes in policy, but they’re actually reversing the U.S. government's official position on what statutes mean," says David Cole, legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union"

Except we know they don't. Let me know when the police start shooting unarmed white people AND getting away with it.

This is what happens when the police shoot an unarmed white person...

http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/21/us/minneapolis-police-chief-resigns/index.html

Who cares what race someone is when shot? They all bleed the same. They are a human and are either wounded seriously or dead. White officer, black officer, brown officer and white, black or brown civilian. Either they were shot and it was appropriate. Or it was not. Period.

That kind of statement plays right into the hands of the right as it justifies their behavior. It's been a long narrative they have played for years. WLM = BLM when clearly it doesn't.

The fact is it wouldn't be hard for any president but this one to understand you don't side with the Nazis.

That wasn't BLM out there. There may have been people who attend BLM rallies who were counterprotesting, but it wasn't some BLM sponsored counter protest, it was just some huge ass group of left leaners who felt, for various reasons, that they needed to get out there and protest other people protesting.

Probably right. And the same is true conversely. That wasn't a Trump rally that include a few neo-Nazis. It was a neo-Nazi rally that inclued some Trump supporters.

That of course is not true.

“Racism is evil,” the US president said at the White House. “And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.”

and

“As I have said many times before, no matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws,” he said. “We all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God. We must love each other, show affection for each other and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry and violence.”

According to Trump there are some very nice Nazis out there. That chap that plowed over 20 people and killed one he wasn't so bad.

I'm sure the Allies shared equal blame for the violence as did the Nazis many decades ago.

There is no moral equivalence between Nazis and those who oppose Nazis.

Tiki torches. Those gave me a good laugh. It's a move in the right direction for them. Maybe they'll show up at their next rally with toy guns. ;)

I never said there was. But punching someone for holding an opinion you don't like is no better or worse if it is a nazi doing the punching or a leftist person doing the punching. It's the same crime with the same severity in either case.

That's not what he said.

He said that there were people at the rally who were not affiliated with white power movements, but were just there to protest the removal of the confederate statue.

Trump is a piece of shit, stop making me defend him.

@AlteredEgo You're correct in so far as many (most?) Jews pass as White in a society in which the regard for racial realism is fading. Race for most now is mostly just viewed as a "skin deep" matter. Many/most Jews in North America have a similar appearance to people of predominant European ancestry, so they are considered White, practically speaking.

However, when it comes to White supremacists, the story is different. White supremacists have never recognized Jews as part of their race. They have always been the ancient enemy.
They are not with those who organize as White Supremacists, but they are still white supremacists because they believe white people, a group to which they believe they belong, are superior. It is that simple. Did you know there are black people who believe whites are superior too? They are also, by definition, white supremacists.

The fact that a larger, more organized group doesn't want them doesn't mean they do not fit the bill. Southern Baptists believe that homosexuality is an abomination before God. Homosexuals who are raised Southern Baptist, and continue to hold and celebrate their faith the only way they've ever known how are still Southern Baptists in practice, even though they are (sometimes quite clearly) not welcome at services and other functions.

I'm not a Jew, but I kinda look like one because my father was Jewish. Here's something I've learned:

In Middle America, people who couldn't care less about these things -- which is most people -- have no idea that I look like a Jew. A lot of them couldn't tell you what "looking like a Jew" means.

But that small percentage of the population that has a problem with Jews ... when they see me they know exactly what they're looking at (or think they're looking at).

So when you say, "many Jews pass ..." It's a little more complicated than that.
