I love how people quote the Geneva Convention when most who quote it know little to nothing about it. It is an agreement adhered to in conflict, ONLY by parties who are MUTUAL members and have signed it. It is NOT a worldwide standard, and it is not applicable unless both parties in the conflict were signing members.
If you would research the "enhanced interrogation techniques" you will also find that lawyers and constitutional scholars *on both sides of the aisle* have reviewed the procedures exhaustively and find *no legal or moral grounds* to constitute "torture". If you'll dig a little further, you'll also find out that President Bush personally excluded 2 techniques from the current/original list of approved methods because he personally didn't approve of them; he felt they went too far. (I fucking don't, because I have personally seen the rationale of our enemies).
Until we fight fire with fire, this is what we face. Our enemies will continue to perform grossly heinous and sickening acts against us as a nation and individually, because they know they are "safe in our courts". The FIRST thing demanded by most of our combatants upon capture is a lawyer. They know they can carry out whatever sickening thing they want because liberals will demand of them a "fair trial".
Many high level operatives have only "broken" under the enhanced interrogation techniques, and by their own admission never thought we would go to those lengths to gain the information.
When it comes to the safety and security of my country, my fellow Americans; liberal, democrat, conservative, republican, moderate, independent, or otherwise, I will torture the fuck out of anyone as long as it keeps my people safe.
The inherent danger lies in the fact that most modern snowflakes are afraid to do this...... and our enemies know it.
