It figures that when Democrats, liberals, Republicans of CONSCIENCE, and others criticized Trump's lawless acts of WAR, because of the dubious means and undoubtedly questionable circumstances by which it was ORCHESTRATED,

his defenders and zombie constituency pulled their same o same o SHIT of cloaking themselves in phony patriotism while accusing Trump's critics of "mourning" the deaths of his victims. Such is the b.s. "alternate realities" in which they live.

So it'd stand to reason that psychotic LOONS like Megan Kelly would go all apeshit over Colin Kaepernick's recent remarks... about how America's history regarding black and brown people, at home and abroad, has little to be proud of... to which Kaepernick's mom responded with something that roughly translate as, "STFU you silly ------------."

Colin Kaepernick’s Mom Comes For Megyn Kelly’s Head After Her ‘Racist’ Criticism Of Her Son | News One
https://newsone.com/3898403/colin-kaepernicks-mom-megyn-kelly-after-racist-criticism/
But the fact is, Kaepernick, who's already despised by Trump and those of his zombie constituency for his protests over racial disparity in "law enforcement," just MIGHT happen to be onto something, especially considering Trump's and the GOP's hateful rhetoric, discriminatory policies, and other efforts (sometimes subtle, sometimes NOT) to do harm to black and brown people right here in AMERICA...

whether via the demonization of Latinos and Muslims, the cruel and illegal separation of Latino immigrant families and imprisonment of children, cuts to assistance programs, attempts at dismantling and discontinuing healthcare and health insurance mandates, attacks on Planned Parenthood, the stiffening of SNAP benefits requirements that promises to disenfranchise millions, their voter suppression efforts, the appointment of racists, bigots, and retrogressives like Stephen Miller to high offices and to the judiciary, the branding of congressional women of color as "not Americans" who should "go back...." You name it,

TRUMP AND THE GOP ARE WORKING NON-STOP, and on a DAILY BASIS, to reverse gains in Civil Rights, and to disenfranchise, deprive, dehumanize, and disempower black and brown people.

Let me count SOME of the WAYS:

A CHICKEN (SHIT) IN EVERY PLOT:

Of course, discriminatory policy making that does harm to mostly people of color is all the BETTER when you can get a person of color to become an accomplice in the crime, like back when, during the Slave Trade, tribal Africans participated in selling other Africans into bondage. So, enter Ben Carson, Trump's "African American," to seal the deal:

Ben Carson Starts The New Year By Undoing Obama-Era Housing Regulations That Could Lead To More Discrimination And Less Consequences - Blavity News

hjanoef4xqa6bqqwt6xd

"The Trump administration has begun the process of undoing Obama-era regulations meant to ensure communities took necessary steps to stop racial segregation.

The new proposed rule by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, which was released Tuesday, would change housing standards — adjusting rules to place more emphasis on improving housing choice rather than reducing discrimination.

“This proposal would dismantle efforts to combat ongoing racial segregation in the housing market and effectively allow jurisdictions free rein to discriminate without consequences," said Kristen Clarke, president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law to ABC News.

Others on the front lines of housing fights fear the repercussions will be even more dire.

“If the rule takes effect, ongoing housing discrimination and segregation will likely continue to be swept under the rug and HUD resources will do far less to reduce segregation and expand housing opportunities for people of color, people with disabilities, and other protected groups," said Peggy Bailey, vice president of housing policy at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

It's clear that Secretary Carson remains committed to changing HUD's mission so that it no longer fights housing discrimination. It's outrageous. We must do more to ensure equal access to housing for all. https://t.co/YKFOhSJ4vd

For Black Americans, It’s Not a Housing Crisis. It’s a Chronic Condition. – Mother Jones

MEANWHILE, Trump and Co, who always manages to find a way to give the WEALTHY and corporate America fat TAX CUTS are chipping away at DISABILITY BENEFITS:

Trump Administration Quietly Goes After Disability Benefits | HuffPost

"Some Americans could lose Social Security Disability Insurance benefits under a recent Trump administration proposal ― a change that could affect thousands of people but that has received little attention since it was first floated in November.

Under the proposed change, the government would look more closely at whether certain disability insurance recipients still qualify as “disabled” after they’ve already been awarded those benefits. While recipients already have to demonstrate their continuing disability every few years, the proposal would ramp up the examinations, potentially running still-eligible beneficiaries out of the program."

AND, Trump and the GOP are still trying to kill Obamacare. They haven't SHIT ELSE by way of a viable replacement, mind you...

Obamacare is still stable without the individual mandate. Too Bad There's That Lawsuit Trying to Kill It.

U.S. court blocks Trump from enforcing 'public charge' immigration rule - Reuters
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-immigration-idUSKBN1Z72D1
"A federal appeals court on Wednesday refused to set aside an injunction blocking the Trump administration from enforcing a rule that would withhold green cards from immigrants likely to require government assistance such as Medicaid or food stamps.

The “public charge” rule unveiled last year would make it harder for immigrants who are poor or need government help to secure residency and stay in the country.

Critics have said the rule would keep out disproportionately large numbers of people from Latin American, African and Asian countries.

“Today is a victory for the millions of immigrants in our state and in this country that have been sidelined, disrespected, and demeaned by the Trump administration,” said New York state Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat.

New York City’s corporation counsel, James Johnson, added that the rule was “an affront to the city’s values” and would “immeasurably harm its immigrant communities.”"

MEANWHILE:

Puerto Rico reels from earthquake while Trump administration continues to illegally withhold aid
https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...istration-continues-to-illegally-withhold-aid
"Puerto Rico has been rocked by aftershocks from the 6.4 magnitude earthquake that hit the island Tuesday, killing one and knocking out power and water in some areas. Residents have been sleeping outside in case the aftershocks cause more damage.

According to CNN, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced that aid will be made available in response to the earthquake.

But that promise can't be taken at face value, since the Trump administration has refused to release all of the disaster recovery money allocated after 2017's devastating Hurricanes Maria and Irma. In fact, about $18 billion Congress appropriated for disaster aid has not been provided, including funding for rebuilding both housing and the electrical infrastructure."

Here is the "cut off our nose to spite your face" irony in this

Take a guess which states the highest % of people on SSI disability are

RED STATES

West Virginia is the "poster child" for this

Guess who by a wide margin are the people on SSI disability in those states ?

WHITE PEOPLE

40 and 50 something non college grads, the vaunted "white working class" the most Trumpian of the Trump base

Of course I am sure that they will find a way to tell them that them getting kicked off disability is NOT Trumps fault , even if they are in a Ruby red state like AL or MS that is somehow someway the fault of "liberals" or "Washington" IE "the deep state who are just screwing them over "because they support the President"

Or of course it is Obama's fault

Or Hillary's fault

It's been said before when the GOP starts losing elections they won't change their xenophobic bigoted policies they will simply abandon democracy.

The repeated efforts to stop African-Americans from voting in this year’s midterm elections feels horribly familiar, especially to anyone who lived through the 1950s. But this isn’t the era of Jim Crow. Instead, we’re watching the predictable consequences of the Supreme Court’s move to eviscerate the Voting Rights Act in 2013. It was a decision as irresponsible as Plessy v. Ferguson’s “separate but equal.” And now, we’re living in Jim Crow 2.0.

The GOP is making “frantic” efforts to disfranchise the voters who are most likely to pick Democrats. Perhaps the most egregious example is happening in my home state of Georgia, where Secretary of State Brian Kemp ― who is also the Republican candidate for governor ― is proving why the Voting Rights Act is absolutely necessary.

Welcome To Jim Crow 2.0

The Trump Administration Is Escalating its War on People of Color By Undermining Affirmative Action - Center for American Progress

trump.jpg

"Since its inception, the Trump administration has consistently undermined the work of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, which is tasked with protecting historically oppressed groups from discrimination. This week, The New York Times revealed that the Trump administration is diverting the division’s resources to attack affirmative action efforts nationwide.

Under the guise of protecting Asian students, the Trump administration seeks to shield white people from the specter of reverse discrimination and disrupt policies that help people of color gain educational opportunities. If the administration succeeds, countless people of color could face reconstructed barriers to higher education."

More examples of Trump and Co's assault upon people of color and minorities in general:

And while Trump and Co. quietly go about approving of and reinforcing laws and regulations that do harm to people of color and minorities in general, they ALSO have set about trying to pit minority groups against each other to the demise of us all:

"Trump's latest executive order highlights what is becoming standard practice within his administration: obscuring the destructive impact of an action on some marginalized communities by couching it in a feigned concern for “protecting” others."

Trump and company have ALSO been burning the midnight oil, it seems, to ENTRENCH laws that would allow discrimination to escape being called discrimination. That whole bs, we can't be charged with policies that in effect discriminate if it can't be proven that was our "intent" argument:

What's clear for a long time is the white nationalist party Trump leads wants to return us to the days when minorities and women couldn't vote and only white men could own property. And LGBT people were whispered about but dare not speak their truths. There were no Muslims and Latino population to share anything. And black people were there to serve for free aka enslaved. Power was absolute and final. When America was great!

Trump has laid out his vision for America: It is the racial Hunger Games. It is a dystopian future in which maximum pressure is applied to minority immigrants and trading partners, all to insulate the white working class. Trump is the white nationalist candidate selling the racial romance of reverting America to a time when white workers were virtually guaranteed success and prosperity, often at the expense and exclusion of others.

Excellent post, Sargon. Yes, that's what Trump and the GOP are ALL ABOUT. Much of what they DO is aimed at DISEMPOWERING PEOPLE OF COLOR, financially, legally, politically and in various OTHER ways.

here's an article that ran in MOTHERJONES only yesterday:

Trump’s Stealth Plan to Preserve White Electoral Power – Mother Jones
20190115_trump-census_2000c.jpg

"... if Donald Trump’s GOP has its way, 2021 could be the year Texas and other Republican-controlled states upend the traditional way of counting who gets represented by state legislators.

This could radically transform districts... undoing decades of demographic change and disempowering lawmakers of color....

And it would be a dramatic win for the conservative war on voting rights, allowing Republicans to game the system by consolidating electoral power they can’t win at the ballot box.

For the past decade, Republicans have sought to exclude noncitizens from the redistricting process. Now Trump [is] going even further, suggesting that anyone who is not eligible to vote, including children, do not have to be counted toward apportioning representation at the state and local level.

Using the voting-eligible population as the metric for reapportionment could lead to half of all state legislative districts in the country being redrawn.

Those new districts would exclude up to 55 percent of Latinos, 45 percent of Asian Americans, and 30 percent of African Americans from being counted as constituents—compared to 21 percent of white people, according to the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.

As the group argued in a legal filing in 2015, “This would amount to a massive shift in political power away from groups that are already disadvantaged in the political process and further concentrate power in the hands of a white plurality that does not adequately represent the full diversity of the total population.”

African-Americans have zero future under Republican rule. The GOP killed the voting rights act and are currently running a state by state effort to steal minority voter's rights. White nationalism is their cause, racism is the vehicle they drive. Always has been.

President Trump made a stark appeal to black Americans during the 2016 election when he asked, “What have you got to lose?” Three years later, black Americans have rendered their verdict on his presidency with a deeply pessimistic assessment of their place in the United States under a leader seen by an overwhelming majority as racist.

The findings come from a Washington Post-Ipsos poll of African Americans nationwide, which reveals fears about whether their children will have a fair shot to succeed and a belief that white Americans don’t fully appreciate the discrimination that black people experience.

While personally optimistic about their own lives, black Americans today offer a bleaker view about their community as a whole. They also express determination to try to limit Trump to a single term in office.

More than 8 in 10 black Americans say they believe Trump is a racist and that he has made racism a bigger problem in the country. Nine in 10 disapprove of his job performance overall.

The pessimism goes well beyond assessments of the president. A 65 percent majority of African Americans say it is a “bad time” to be a black person in America. That view is widely shared by clear majorities of black adults across income, generational and political lines.

Black Americans deeply pessimistic about country under Trump, whom more than 8 in 10 describe as ‘a racist,’ Post-Ipsos poll finds

ONLY eight in ten?? Hmm. Then I'd say two percent of us haven't exactly been keeping up with CURRENT EVENTS,

including rollbacks and cuts to programs that help mostly people of color, his attacks upon Obamacare, his recent undoing of Michelle Obama's school lunch program, his and his administrations efforts at voter suppression, his appointment of all white judges with histories of racist and retrogressive ideology, his and his administration's ending of HUD anti-discrimination policies, his attacks and insults aimed at, particularly, women politicians and journalists of color, his administration's undoing of civil rights legislation, affirmative action, consent decrees providing guidance to law enforcement in cities with a record of civil rights abuses against minorities, his and his administration's seeking of the harshest penalties possible for drug convictions... the list goes on and on:

Those whose ideology and policies are harmful to minorities can always find on or two from said minority to stand beside them, as if to legitimize the act. I personally believe those like Carson and Thomas have fairly solidified their "places in history" the minds of many if not most black people.

Right next to notables like Mr. Iscariot.

Trump Moves To Gut Obama-Era Housing Discrimination Rules

"... President Barack Obama put rules in place with the intention to further combat racial segregation, but ... Donald Trump is ready to move forward with rolling those protections back, according to Politico

— “potentially making it easier for banks to deny loans to black and Hispanic people or for cities to confine poor families to minority neighborhoods.”

The changes will come from a handful of Trump officials and agencies, the news outlet reported, including Housing Secretary Ben Carson. Carson is preparing to “scrap an Obama policy withholding federal funds from cities if they don’t address segregation.”

In addition, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is looking to trim down data collection that helps keep an eye on discrimination in the housing market."

[note: and NOT so suprisingly. Remember, that's the same CFPB that Trump deliberately SABOTAGED via the appointment of his own STOOGES whose job it is to DO EXACTLY THAT. see: The continuous republican attack on consumers' rights ]

"Trump is also targeting the very same law his own family was accused of violating in the 1970s, Politico noted, when President Richard Nixon’s Justice Department sued the Trump Organization for trying to bar black people from renting apartments. The company eventually settled, but Trump has insisted his family did nothing wrong.

Thomas Silverstein of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law summed up his concerns for Politico: “I think there’s an effort by this administration to narrow the scope and the sort of meaning of civil rights protections so there’s just a hollowed-out husk of what’s actually protected.”

Donald Trump has shown his disrespect for and, at times, utter contempt for people of color, long before he slithered into the Oval Office, and in many ways. From discriminating against black tenants, to denying President Obama's citizenship, to insisting that the Central Park Five were guilty even after their proven innocence via DNA.

And he continues to demonstrate it to this day, whether it's undermining and rolling back legislation aimed at assisting families and children with supplemental nutrition, undermining healthcare legislation, hobbling an agency designed to protect consumers from predatory lender practices, rolling back environmental protections, defanging antI-discrimination laws in housing, pushing for massive voter purges in mostly black communities... and MORE,

Trump has waged a war upon people of color, disrespecting minority journalists, politicians, and other people of color by questioning our intellect, our patriotism, our activism, or birthright, indeed our dignity... proving the last by saying to Black America, "What have you got to lose" in voting for him (the answers turns out to be, "A HELL of a fkng LOT") and most recently, by thinking he can buy our votes by handing out envelopes of cash.

But nothing quite sealed his utter contempt for us like his SOTU "FUCK YOU" to Black America, in handing Rush Limbaugh, a racist, race baiting DEMAGOGUE whose built his entire despicable career upon demonizing and denigrating black people and other minorities, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

"FREEDOM," mind you.

And doing so in Black History month, and on the day that celebrated Rosa Parks, who received THAT honor, that these vile and pitiful excuses for human beings so SULLIED in their contempt for all that it STOOD FOR.

Make no mistake about it. It was a despicable and heinous act, deliberately designed to appease and appeal to every racist, bigoted pos within their constituency. Legitimizing their sordid litany of hate, via honor and recognition for their malignant MALEVOLENCE.

And ANYONE, who may have EVER had even a SHADOW of a doubt, as to what this fkr is, and STANDS FOR... let him or her DOUBT NO LONGER.

Right but black people aren't the majority when it comes to government assistance. So what i'm sure is about to happen is a whole lot of white people all across america will begin to drop like flies. I don't know, to me that's the upside of racism. Sure, black people will suffer but black people have always suffered. It's kind of in our bones. Odds are good we'll find a way.

The same can't be said of white trump supporters who think a hard days work is sitting on their ass.
