Japan taxes it’s way to economic misery:

Japan raises consumption tax to 10%

Again, anyone can answer, please point to a country that has taxed it’s way to prosperity, any country.

And if you cannot find one, why would anyone to damage America with more taxes?

During the period 1945 to 1980 the U.S. was the most prosperous at any time in its history. There was a thriving middle class, the economy was steady in expanding. The tax rates were as high as70% before any deductions. This encouraged long term investment and growth. WE actually taxed our way to prosperity. The decline began with the Reagan tax cuts and got worse every time a Republican administration cut taxes further. It takes money out of the economy, kills wage growth and undermines society as a whole.

Call me crazy but if I'm expected to be a responsible American and budget my household finances such that I cover all my responsibilities and don't take on a huge amount of debt than my government should be able to do that too.

Republican or Democrat, I don't care, stop spending money you don't have. Sets a bad example for the rest of us.
You're so right ... we used to have fiscal conservatives in our government. They're all long gone now ... where once we had democrats tax and spend we now have the republicans saying don't tax but still spend. Debt will be an insurmountable obstacle?

The US prospered partly because the rest of the industrialized world was decimated in World War II

No. Criticisms don't have to have solutions. That's not what a criticism is.

[ the act of passing judgment as to the merits of anything. ]

You'd think it'd be much easier to get the definition of words since you are currently on the internet.
Why did you ask me then? You can look things up too. Then you act all snarky towards me. So are you gonna answer the boat question? It was asked nicely and directly. I mean you being of such high intellect and all.

There is a growing contingency of people in this country that seem to think that if someone has something you do not, then you are entitled to at least some of it. Along with this philosophy is that people who have great wealth must have lied, cheated, and stolen their fortune. So once again the have nots feel entitled to the possessions and wealth of the haves.

The attitude of entitlement is a dangerous one.

Actually you have it flipped. The haves think they are entitled to all the world’s wealth and to exploit every living thing until it is exhausted and then destroyed.

By every metric we have the rich are taking the lion share of the planet’s wealth.

What if you earn it? I work my ass off. I am retired and I still work. Anyone else is welcome to do the same thing. I am entitled to what I earn. Not what you earn. I don’t have it backwards, but because I busted my ass all my life I do have it made.

NO! We were the only functioning country following WW2. Once Germany, Japan, England were rebuilt, our industrial dominance was over.

It is a clever trick to use that particular time frame as a ruse to embellish progressive taxation nonsense, but you conveniently skewed the time to try and make Reagan look bad, when in fact America was in economic trouble with Carter, and it was Democrat JFK that cut taxes initially, becayse they were crushing the economy under Ike.

And if high taxes were so effective, where are the other large high tax countries that have boomed?

B- though for effort.

From Wiki:

The economy of the seventies was terrible. Dubbed with an oil embargo and a mix of other problems led the American nation to an almost depression state. The energy shortage was the start followed by high unemployment and inflation. The economyof the US during the seventies was a hard time for everybody in America.

Dullo, when you are wrong you don’t fuck around, you go whole hog WRONG.

I'll stand by the answer. Being called wrong by someone who is wrong all the time is not something I worry about.

In the case of Hilton she was born in to a rich family. Good for her, they can spend their money how they choose. If they want to secure her future that’s not any of my business. It is also not my place to take it from them.

I would not want the Kardashian’s life. Looks
like a lot of bullshit and scrutiny. Not my cup of tea. Also they got where they are because of their family. Once again not my business.

Then there is my perspective, I can do as I choose. Fuck up, and move on without 9 cameras pointed at me. TMZ does not report on my heartache and failures in real time. I am free to be human and have privacy. That’s rather nice really.

Lastly, I am very busy doing my best to make my life whole. I don’t worry about what someone else has. I have been blessed in many ways and not so much in others. That’s just like anyone else. I also know that life is not fair. It is not easy. It never has been and never will be. Wasting time complaining about it won’t change it. Trying to take from someone else that which is not yours wont ever work and what you get won’t last.

Your life is the sum of your choices.

I am rarely wrong, something you just proved you are most of the time. I wish you were brighter but ...

Sorry, but you're hardly ever right - you know better but choose to be deliberately obtuse, I guess to play your right wing kabuki theatre. I see over and over that anyone who explains them selves to you or your ignored knave is just dismissed and you move on, so there is no point. You were wrong, history shows it, End of story. You'll spin it how you like, but you fool only yourself.

Actually Paris built a multi-million dollar cosmetics empire. While I'm not a fan, the Kardashians turned themselves into a brand also worth millions (Kylie is worth more than a billion) and that did take some work. They did not invent the wheel, but there is no denying they worked.

Food for thought. There are a little over 500 billionaires in the USA. If you bankrupted them all their wealth would fund the federal government for about 9 months. So, I dunno about you, but to me that does not sound so great.

If you want wealth you need to create value.

How do you so consistently get stuff wrong? You aren’t even as good as a stopped watch.
