I use to jerk off 7 times a day. When I started dating my wife she broke me of my masturbating addiction. 3 months into dating I went a full week without jerking off and have only jerked off with permission since ever since... over 25 years now and at times have gone months without touching myself

As long as it’s not interfering with work or social life, it’s fine to masturbate as often as you want to, within reason (e.g. don’t do it until it hurts). I masturbate 3-4 times a week and have sex 1-3 times a week. When I’m busier at work, both numbers go down, but otherwise I feel best when I ejaculate at least every other day. It keeps the pipes clean and feels good.
