I mean with Dylan not coming back it was already going to be a hot mess. Because I liked those two characters. And I felt like they had really good chemistry, and it was mainly because of the actors themselves. I don’t know what the big deal was about finally getting them together. The actors were on board. It had a crap ton of fans and the other actors supported it. So I don’t understand why it wasn’t something that happened After Stiles graduated.

But this movie could’ve been the perfect opportunity had Dylan had come back. Because it’s been 15 years they’re all definitely in their 30s by now. Anything could’ve happened. Or how they could’ve gotten them together and it could’ve been one of those relationships that was, one person was on screen. The other one was off. It’s been done before. But yes, it was crappy writing, Derek's son was supposed to be a carbon copy of Stiles and that was stupid. You can’t put that much pressure on a young actor. Like he had big shoes to fill and he couldn’t do it. And I don’t think it was right to expect him to be able to.
Movie was doomed for me not (just) because of any of the trash writing but I've had nearly a decades worth of 'Bad Friend Scott McCall' fanfiction tropes that I now don't like him as the main character regardless of his canon character literally the only reason to watch was to refresh my visual memory of Derek Hale. Now if Dylan O'Brien came back and they gave more of that S1 & S2 fanservice it would've gotten Oscar acclaim regardless of any shite acting or writing

Right. The movie needed Hoechlin and Dylan. They just added something else to the franchise that was pretty cool.

Your otaku/geek flag is fine the problem is your "I let the racist fan community's braindead fanfic interpretation of the show's main character seep into my brain" flag.
Were people being racist? Because I hadn’t seen that. I know that some just don’t like the character, which is understandable. I do remember seeing racist comments about Dylan and Hoechlin though. Calling Dylan, Dylan O’Mayo because people favored the “white guys” over the POC main character. And that wasn’t true. Not liking Scott had nothing to do with his race, he just wasn’t that good of a character and that’s on the writers.

I mean I’m not wrong. 1676049621129.gif
They started him off pretty good in the beginning and then things went down hill with that true alpha thing. But from the fanfics I’ve read a lot of Sterek ones actually painted him in a better light. Sure I’ve seen some ones where he’s a dick…but most of them are just them all getting along. They make him a better friend in the ones I’ve read.

I've seen a lot of fandoms over the years. I'm not 100, but I'm old for fandoms. Are all Sterek people who hate Scott racist? No. Are some of them? Yes. Are some of the people who write "Scott is a bad friend" stuff unconsciously biased because Scott is the Latino lead of a mostly white cast? Yes. Unconscious bias is a very real thing.

Does it matter to Hoechlin's attractiveness? No. Hoechlin is hot regardless of the ships he's in.

The "Bad Friend Scott" trope does'nt exits because Tyler is Latino, is because in seasons 1, 2 and 5 (mostly) Scott's friendship to Stiles was questionable at times and he also made some mistakes that he never took responsability of, like the "Derek killed his sister" accusation, for example. Melissa Mccall, Kira Yukimura y Danny Mahealani are fan favorites and the 3 aren't white. The problem is mostly "the sidekick/rival/antagonist is more interesting" trope, as simple as the ships Stydia, Sterek and Stalia are far more popular than Scallison or Scira due to the characters.

Season 3 Scott was the best, i don't know how thw changed him so much.

Favoritism. They knew that Dylan and Hoechlin will becoming increasingly popular. Which is the reason why they made Scott a true alpha, making Derek a secondary character instead of a lead like he was. And I thought that that was messed up because all they really had to do was give Scott a better storylines and just write him a little better. I do agree, I did like season three a Scott better. Just minus the true alpha mess.

We’re seriously arguing about fanfiction, go back to Tyler’s tits.
OMG just came back to this page and noticed that. My original post was just supposed to be light hearted. Please focus on the REAL underrated specimen that is the 'Bottom Derek' trope LMFAO jk. Back to our regularly scheduled thirst

Let's not forget about these
Hopefully like they’ve been saying on Twitter, hopefully the do some more interviews with him this year and do a better job on marketing the show. Because honestly, we should be seeing interviews and photo shoots more often from the cast. Like good Lord, Tyler is playing superman. We should be seeing his face like everywhere.

To be fair, it is the CW and the last show of the dying Arrow-verse. Can't expect too much. 5 years ago, we would have gotten that.

Question. Can you recommend any good fanfic titles, that aren't alternative universe, crossover crap. I like to read ones that stay in the canon. Feel free to dm.
