Hey Guys

Is it possible to tell what type of circumcision was used on mine?

I was circumcised as a baby and my frenulum doesnt seem to have developed either....

These the most common. There some others. In the U.S. these seem to be the most used that i have seen.

There are three different techniques used to perform a circumcision; Gomco, Plastibell and Mogen methods.
The Gomco clamp is the most widely used method for infant male circumcision. i believe it takes more of the fore skin.
The Plastibell method involves a clear plastic ring being placed on the tip of the penis (glans). it seems to leave a darker line. Some wound done by crushing by cord or clamp to tight will leave skin discolored. Hence the dark line later in life.
Mogen clamp is faster than other circumcision methods. it is less agressive of thr amount of skin cut away. But with most places it is done by an intern.

There is no method I like.

The Gomco leaves the distinctive brown ring around the shaft, typically the widest scar of the principal methods. Most Plastibell circumcisions I've seen leave a fainter scar. Gomco can take more skin than the other methods or less, depending entirely on how far the operator pulls the skin through. The Plastibell method is the most standardized technique of the 3.

The Mogen clamp has caused serious injury, and the manufacturer has gone bankrupt due to liability claims.

In person it's very often possible to tell the method, less so from a photo unless there is a really discernable brown ring.

Plastibel was introduced around 1965. So if born before that, your circumcision wasn't plastibel.

Gomco has the image of leaving the dark ring, but this is not always the case and other methods can also leave it. It is to do with your skin/pigmentation behaviour.

You have a good amount of inner foreksin left. But even baby technique can give that. Had you had small amount of inner foreksin left, one could rule out mogen style.

Wow, you just keep on inventing stuff as you go along. Do facts come to you in dreams?

The Plastibell was patented by Hollister in 1950, shortly after WWII. It is one of the devices that led to the rapid rise in US circumcision rates during the 1950s and 1960s.

I think I see a scarline so I would say gomco.

Does anyone know how the major types usually play out in terms of style. (high/low, frenulum intact/removed)
