Right now, if you looked at me id look completely calm. inside, my stomach feel very wierd and im fuming. i really want to explode outwardly in some way by screaming or hitting something. but i cant because physically im calm. its all mental. does anyone else get something like this? like a dull aching rage? or do you get it some other wierd way?

I do get them a lot lately. I wanna scream, yell at people, hit something, break stuff because I'm mad. But I have to stay calm so they think I have everything under control.

I think you should talk with someone professional just to check it out. No point going through life in such discomfort if it turns out that it's totally unnecessary and it could be eased. Personally I would ask my doctor for a referral for a consultation with a psychiatrist. I am not messing with you, I just think people should not deliberately choose a more difficult life if modern medicine can help. On the other hand, you're probably just stressed or just going through teenage hormonal stuff, so they might just send you home and tell you to get more sleep and watch less porn :) At any rate get it checked out.

Aww - it sounds like you're stressed Lems.

I do get like that sometimes - it's usually if I feel forced to go along with something I'm deeply unhappy with, or if I'm in a situation that needs changing in some way.

    All the best man ;)

i dont like to complain lol. My main fear is that my doctor will just laugh and be like go home or dope me up. i dont want shit loads of meds and to become a zombie. i think i need an outlet for my anger really.

I agree that medication is an answer when nothing else will handle the problem. Look into an anger management program. Sometimes we all have frustrations, I just go to the gym and work out or play tennis.

Exactly!! Anger is not a bad thing. It is an emotion, just like all others. It's my belief that society's effort to repress it has caused many problems. How many have felt better after a sudden outburst? It's a stress relief, lol. As long as others are not injured, it's healthy.

Get a punching bag, it works wonders

Long runs in cold, wet weather tend to break up the anger knots in my brain.

I concur with the physical activity recommendations. I was once married to an Italian (!) and when we would get emotional I finally got him to go for a run. He'd come back much calmer. It's amazing what adrenaline can do when channeled effectively.

I have to jump on the bandwagon here...when I get worked up like you describe, take a look at your behavior and habits that preceded your internalized anger. When I look at mine...I always find that (1) i have been 'stuffing' frustration and not venting with a friend and (2) neglecting myself physically & (3) i am focusing too much on #1 (me).

In other words, the best cure for clearing my head is physical activity and an occasional 'bitch fest' with a trusted friend which will help me get out of my head and empathize with their issues.

Not me. I'm pissed, you're gonna know about it but will say it takes A LOT to get me there. I blow a gasket and then apologize for the gasket failure not the steam. ;)

Ranting to a trusted friend (who will rant about the same thing) is a Gawd send.

The dull background rages are harder to reckon with. I suffer from them at times but am puzzled where they arise from. I can only assume they are akin to a multitude of fallen leaves clogging a storm drain: None by itself is any serious impediment but their collective effect can ruin normal function, especially during times of stress.

The causes of the more acute cases of anger are easier to identify: unmet needs.

Like others have said, routine physical workouts are a big help in managing the effects of both.
