okay.. thread hogging/high jack.

i have tons of questions about circumcision and i really don't want to start another thread, so far this one has been fairly civil with minimal name calling so i will piggie back a few questions here.

1. to guys who are cut/would cut their sons - if you were never cut, grew up to your current years with a happy healthy foreskin, would you go through with the procedure today?

Probably not. I would not have a reason to.

2. guys with loose circs - would have you have a second procedure to shorten the foreskin you have or remove it completely? would you want the frenulum to remain?

Right now my circ is fine except my scar is pretty thick. If I wanted to kill 2500 bucks and get a revision I would probably wait till I am in my 40s and in a mid-life crisis.

3. why do you think it's important that your son be uncut/cut? beyond the "it's my choice to make" ... i guess what's the significance of circumcision to you?

I do like the tradition aspects of it. Now that I am cut, every boy on my dad's side of the family is cut (that I know of). So continuing that tradition, while not important to me is valid.

4. to men who are cut/uncut - how much, if any, does your status effect your sense of self or your sexual self?
(i might not be asking this right.... i reserve the right to edit this question if i can figure out what i am really trying to ask )

None really.

4. men/women who would have their sons cut - would you/will you get your daughters the HPV vaccines?

I dont see why I wouldnt

i am cut and so was my father and brothers. if i had a son he definately would be left intact. I see no reason to circumcise..... generally speaking. if a guy wants to cut it later for whatever reason fine. if i had my way i would not have been cut.

darkbond007 - thank ya just for playing along on two threads. i deleted the original post trying to avoid circ thread cluttering and because i got a bit ramble crazy. *like i do in this reply*

Right now my circ is fine except my scar is pretty thick. If I wanted to kill 2500 bucks and get a revision I would probably wait till I am in my 40s and in a mid-life crisis. - you might want to try Mederma Scar Solutions. i know a raised scar on a shin is not the same as a circ scar , but i used the gel on a gnarly looking scar and after about 2 months the scar is hardly noticeable. certainly cheaper than surgery.

I do like the tradition aspects of it. Now that I am cut, every boy on my dad's side of the family is cut (that I know of). So continuing that tradition, while not important to me is valid. - i can understand tradition. in my family it's the opposite, none of the men are cut.. so i don't see any of my brothers or cousins getting their boys circ'd.

None really. - that might have been the random fail question... i am just very attached to my body, mostly because i've worked out, gotten inked, pierced... all by my choice... i am very thrilled with everything i've done. i'm not sure how i would feel about someone else take it on themselves to alter my body. could be a girl thing

I dont see why I wouldnt[/QUOTE] - on the random, ya would be a pretty good dad.

again, thank you much for taking the time to answer.

I'm cut and trying to restore. Any boys I have will not be cut. My father is cut, and thinks the concept of losing sensation from circumcision is wrong. I take this belief very seriously. If I were having a son, I'd be very clear about those beliefs beforehand with my wife/girlfriend. There would be no "My wife saw to it that my son was circumcised." If this occurred Iwould seek a divorce (if necessary) and custody of the child. May sound extreme, but there it is.

I posted on this topic on a related thread recently, & here's my opinion:

I'm cut (didn't have any choice in the matter), and it hasn't bothered me in the slightest. But when my son was born, I was surprised at how tricky the decision was for me and my wife.

We ended up leaving him uncut, on the basic theory that it was his body and if he later wanted to be cut, he could decide to do that. (And, later on, when he's a teenager, but not yet an adult, I guess I'd probably pay for it for him if that's what he wanted and had thought it through carefully.)

Ultimately, the only argument in my mind FOR doing the circ at birth that held any traction in my mind at the end was the thought that he might enter the sexual world as a young teenager only to discover that his partners just didn't like the sight, feel, smell, whatever of an uncut penis (I've definitely heard of that happening) -- and that he might not, at that relatively young age, have the courage and/or wherewithal to sort it all out.

But in the end, again, the overriding principle that it was his body and his decision overrode all of our other considerations.
Hope we made the right call.

See while on principle I do believe every should have the right to decide if he wants to be cut or not, I do believe every parent should have the right to make the decision circumcise they children. I wouldn't want someone to make me circumcise my kids, why should I be able to force parents not to circumcise their kids?

A good friend of mine growing up was uncut and wished he was cut, he looked in to adult circumcision and decided against it as it was to painful, expensive etc. But he said he would definitely circumcise his son. I told him if he was going to make his son feel the pain, why don't you do the same for yourself. I thought he was such a hypocrite.

I'm cut and if I had sons (which is very unlikely since I am gay and too old to adopt), they would be cut. I would not want them growing up wondering why their cocks (if uncut) looked different from most other kids.

uh oh. i think this is one of the first times that I am joing a circ thread...

I agree 100%. I firmly believe that it SHOULD NOT BE the right of the parents to circumcise their newborn.

I understand parents want to do what is best for their new baby boy however, considering that RIC is so controvercial perhaps it's best to allow the person to whom the penis is attached to make that decision.

Granted, if there are medical problems at age 6, for example, let's say phimosis and circumcision is the best solution then by all means... do what is best for your child.

Modifying your baby boy's body just because 'that's how it is" is unethical. Why not get your 14 year old flat chested daughter some implants? Just minor body modification - like circumcision. Right?

Don't get me wrong, I am NOT anti-circumcision!!! I love cut cock :) However, I truely believe that it is the individuals right to decide what modifications are made to his body unless there are extenuating medical circumstances ie phimosis, balanitis... before the age of majority.

I agree with Ginger q-boy and Swimmersox 100%. And I'll admit that my thinking has changed 180 degrees on this. I'm cut (as you can tell from my gallery), and I was adamantly in favor of cutting cock in all circumstances. Then, when I started researching it and really thinking about it, it seemed rather barbaric. By my own personal code of morality, I couldn't make that decision for another human being. One of the articles I read that changed my thinking on this is here ( Mothering: The Case Against Circumcision). Plus, I've seen a lot of Bel Ami JO porn, with foreskin galore on beautiful men, so maybe that helped condition me to reset my thinking as to what was natural and unnatural. A topic that brings passion on both sides, that's for sure!

ya cuz the most important lesson u can teach ur kid early on is that different is bad and everybody needs to be exactly the same.

This thread is very interesting !
I'm french, not muslim more jewish, yet I'm cut, my dad is cut and my grandpa is cut too. On top of that I got pierced at a very young age, young enough for me not to remember. I actually find the piercing less intrusive than the circumcision because the piercing can be taken off and heal quite rapidly whereas when you're cut, it's forever. I don't resent anyone though, I pretty ok with my sex life !

If I had son, he'd be cut just like his dad. Got a problem with it? I don't give a damn.
I do have a problem with it, as I do with all routine cutting of children, male and female. Your pride in your scarred penis does not give you the right to cut your child.

My father was uncut, until a pre-antibiotic infection forced his circumcision (which he regretted all his life)
I am uncut
My son is uncut
My grandson is uncut

(And lets put the abortion discussion aside. It is a hijack of this thread)
