I have to agree with NIC here that it really is no-one else's business. I am surprised that you have put up with some of the comments from people Snoozan.

For a Country that is so fiercely defencive of it's freedom of speech and freedom of choice I am surprised that the vast majority do not advocate leaving this choice up to the individual in question once they are old enough to decide for themselves.

Personally, I think that, unless there is medical reason, penises should be left intact. We, in the western world we, have running water and soap for hygiene. So even those practicing circumcision, for traditional reasons, should give up clinging to something that makes sense for nomadic desert dwellers. Female circumcision, also known as genital mutilation, is against the law. Male circumcision should either be declared an elective procedure or banned. If a guy chooses or needs to be circumcised later, it is still an option.

Among new parents, there is only ONE topic of discussion - the baby. What he eats, when he eats, how often diapers are changed, how long the umbilical stayed on, whether or not he is trimmed, you name it, if it concerns baby, they talk about it.

First and foremost, if your friends are pissing you off about it then tell them to fuck off like others have said here. However, because you brought it here and made it some of our business I will give you my side.

Most of these posts are from uncut guys more than often from other countries. Just as they are in such disbelief of how us Americans handle these issues etc, we are just as in awe about it against them. Some don't seem to understand that being cut is part of what it is to live and grow up here. Its almost part of the culture. People elsewhere in the world go uncut, we here get cut. They don't understand what your kid is going to deal with growing up here uncut, good or bad.

About people offering their unsolicited opinions, it seems to be that everyone feels the need to chime in when there's a new baby around. Even people with absolutely no experience raising a child. Surprisingly, all the grandparents have learned to keep their mouths shut-- lately it's been well meaning "friends" including those with small children that are cut. Maybe they are worried my son's heathen penis will somehow affect their own sons. Who the hell knows.

One benefit that I've noticed having a child with an uncircumcised penis is that his glans is nice and hidden when I change his diapers or bathe him. I think that can be the private part of his body that is all his-- like what we girls have. Actually, it's diaper changing where people feel the need to ogle his package. Personally I avert my eyes if another parent is changing their child.

One of the nice things is that my best friend has a son just a year younger than mine and he is also uncut. I hope the two boys growing up together can give each other support if it's needed.

I also hope to be very open with my son about everything-- his genitals, mine, daddy's and most everything else that is considered "not for children." Growing up there were so many things that I knew that my parents wouldn't discuss with me which would have made things as a child/teenager much easier.

Went through the same BS when my son was born and went through the same BS when my 3 grandson's was born. I am not cut and the only teasing I got when I was young was because I had a longer flaccid length than anyone else in my circle of friends and then in Jr. High and High School.
