Thinking about going to an underwear party at the Green Lantern bar in Washington DC next Friday. Has anybody ever been to an underwear party? What is the protocol for checking your gear at the bar.

Leave everything at home; watch, jewelry, phone if possible, and anything of value. I’m overly cautious but I’ve taken a pre-loaded credit card so my drivers license is the only thing of value to lose. I recently got a state issued ID so I can leave my DL in the hotel safe when I’m on stateside business trips.
I’ve travelled the globe and not always followed my own advice and have never lost anything. But I know I’ve been lucky.
If you’re not stressed about losing stuff it’s easier to have a good time.

They were together in a small carrying case. I think it fell out of my pocket while I was getting dressed to go home. One of the bartenders who knew me found it and called me the next day. I don't think that happens very often. BTW he got a big tip when I went to pick it up.

Same thing happened to me at the gym. I have a Tag sports watch and for some reason I took it off in the shower. Fortunately my trainer happened into the same shower later in the day and recognized my watch. I hadn’t even noticed it was missing when he called. It’s a 4K watch so he was handsomely rewarded for his honesty.
Don’t take anything you’re not prepared to lose.

I've gone before, most of the guys will be in tighty-whiteys, some (at best 1/4er) might be in jockstraps, but it's mostly boring. One guy i was talking to pulled down on mine to look at my junk without asking needless to say, since I wasn't being paid while there, I stopped talking to them after saying "what are you doing?" and they said "I thought you were one of the strippers".

For protocol, be sure to get consent before trying anything. Socks and armbands/guards are great for putting money/cards/phones. At that same party some old guy pissed on another participant without asking which is so very, incredibly, uncool.

like most parties, be a decent human being and you should be fine. don't be afraid to tell the staff if anyone is being aggressive/abusive. It helps everyone there if you do and they're liable if anything bad happens.

The few times I went to an underwear party, was at a bar in Chicago that is no longer there. We always just took our ID card and some cash. The first time I went, I usually go commando, so I had to borrow a friend's underwear. He gave me a pair of underwear that showed off a nice bulge and ass. Depends on where you are and how well they know you. Here, they have to card everybody, no matter the age. It would really suck to get all the way to the bar and get turned away because you don't have an ID.

It isn't to prove your age. It's so they can identify you in case of emergency. I was at the Ramrod in Ft. Lauderdale at their underwear night last winter when someone went into insulin shock. Imagine being carried out by the EMT's in your jockstrap and no one knows who you are or where you are from.

Correct never thought about that and will definitely have my ID
