Underwear Style Research

Hey guys,

I figured most of us are into funky underwear so I'd like your thoughts on a concept I'm trying to develop...

Basically I want to come up with a garment of underwear that can double up as both a brief and a boxer brief by way of some sort of detachable side panels.

I'm totally thinking outside the box as I want to come up with something that is a) different b) fun c) stylish and d) practical.

Personally, I have different types of underwear for the office, the gym, a night out, lounging around the house and I think that more and more guys are becoming more fashion conscious when it comes to their underwear...i mean unless we go commando we spend more time in our underwear than any other item of clothing!

You'll probably just ask, "Well, I can buy a pair of briefs for this and another pair of boxers for that". But to have a versatile piece of underwear, it could be a staple part of a man's wardrobe. Plus underwear is getting more and more fun.

So a few things to think about:

1) Do you wear different styles of underwear?
2) Do you wear different styles of underwear depending on the occasion?
3) Are you fashion conscious about your underwear?
4) Do you buy into brands?
5) Do you like your underwear to be fun? Playful? Bold?

I mostly wear boxers but when I go to the gym I wear classic Y front jockey briefs

I really don't go after fashion underwear just reg. boxers from fruit of the loom or hanes I've been wearing just boxers since a teenager

i dont see your idea working but as soon as you have them complete, send me some =)
you can design briefs with a boxer brief look. boxer briefs dont sit and support the crotch as briefs does.
the way briefs fit around your balls and the line goes right up to the top of the inside leg where the top if your balls start. if you design a pair of boxer briefs that fits the lining of brief and then extra material for the legs. its probably hard to explain. but boxers briefs are just smaller and tighter boxers which only kinda supports your package. if you make a more fitted pair of boxer briefs then id buy them (id also accept your free pairs lol)

What would you do with the side panels when they're not in use? Roll them up and place them in the front to enhance your profile? Just wondering, since that would seem to be the main issue, unless it folds back and stays in place or something...
