I was laid off and currently receiving unemployment. What happens if I get a part time job? How will that affect the unemployment I am receiving. I am currently receiving the max amount.

Depends on the state and the county. I am an airline wonk too and have been laid off like 3 times in ten years lol (wish i was kidding). If you are in SFO you are lucky, because California is, or was, pretty lenient on that when I was based there.

Your best bet would be to try to get a job under the table. (with me sitting at said table):biggrin1: We can put some "laid" into your lay off.

As a rule whatever is earned is deducted from the amount you are getting from unemployment.

That's how it worked for me. In fact, I got more money each week if I worked part time because the unemployment supplemented my part-time job up to 125% of the amount I would've been getting on unemployment alone.
