Guess what? Corporations don't REALLY pay tax. You tax corporations, the price of everything goes up and wages go down.

Tax capital gains, the economy freezes up because nobody wants to sell.

Tax the rich innovators, people leave the country and innovate elsewhere. Without innovators hopes of making it big, you would have neither your computer nor internet to be reading this.

Not to mention that income tax is inherently anti-freedom and is legal theft.

Average voters don't understand economics due to bad public schooling I think, at least in the USA. They have that image stuck in their head "tEh corporations r evilz and wants to kill us and take r monies government HALP PLZ!"

starinvestor has spawned an evil twin.
Why can't the argument on reproductive rights be used on people like this?

I've tried, not to mention adoption rights. You can send your child to a loving home with gay partners, or you can send your child to the home of bigwig nutjobs who are only going to train them to spout corporate slogans and recruit them for their Fortune 500 company. Blah blah blah corruption, blah blah blah cocaine abuse, blah blah blah, dishonesty leads to another economic crash. Let's go the spa!

And what's wrong with that??!? :biggrin1:
Seriously, I'll race you to the spa. Last one in the sauna can't use a towel!

All this gerble may be true to the 'fat cats', so we must find a better way of doing business in the future, so your gerble will be meaningless in the future.

So nobody has a serious argument against this? Looks like I win. You guys don't even fit into the uninformed category, just the "I'm too pretentious too even want to understand" one.

No, we wouldn't give this any more serious thought than we'd give a debate on unicorns or Sasquatch.

Looks like I win.

Motherfucker this ain't Scrabble, this ain't Shoots and Ladders, you ain't win shit.

Of course, the final desperate tactic of a talking-points argument, insult the intelligence and claim that they just don't get it. That's not even your own tactic, you got that from the first debate when Mccain kept suggesting "Obama just doesn't get it."

Where's the "You're a republican tool/fool" smiley when you need it?

All of the serious arguments about this topic have already been beaten to death and then some. Why don't you read previous threads, where uniformed, biased individuals just like you tried to spread the same poisonous gospel? I must admit, though, many people here do NOT share your view. So it's gonna be a struggle for you to prove to ANYONE with a brain that you've seen the light.

Then again, maybe you have. And you stared at it too long. That would at least explain your blindness.

Actually the average American is a corporate lover and would buy anything as long as it is made in a corporation... you see the denizens of the zombified masses wandering around WAL-MART and BEST BUY while eschewing privately owned businesses because they don't have the corporate brand.

You are fucking kidding yourself, because the average American is a complete corporate cock sucker.

It is the enlightened few that know the evils of the corporation.

Fundamentally, the OP is correct but he has conveniently neglected to mention the consequences of conservative economic policies. Such policies promote greater economic growth and benefit a nation as a whole, but those policies also neglect the losers of those policies. There will always be a certain segment of the population that makes poor economic decisions for themselves or are just plain unlucky. That's where leftist economic policies come in. They can help prevent destitution and help enable more opportunities for those who have been lost by the economic engine. However, if taken too far, leftist economic policies lead to near permanent economic stagnation (remember the 70's?) and dependence on government benefits. The country that has done the best in balancing the two right now appears to be the UK. It has a decently strong social safety net, but also has a vibrant economy.

Blah blah blah... carefully disguised right wing propaganda.

Jeeze... what this country needs is more right wing economic policies. Give me a break. It is fucking right wing economic policies that are ending the way of life as we know it in the West.

Leftist economic policies? Are you fucking kidding me? What the fuck are leftist economic policies and when did we implement them?

95% of economists are right wingers... so where did these left wing economic ideas come from? You are full of crap.

But that would be Socialist!! Can't have anything like that!

Let the economic losers suffer for their ignorance I say. It's not our fault they don't know what the fuck a hedge fund is. Or how to leverage the debt in an economy.

Screw'em. Why don't they just get a job?

Why don't you just get a heart? I hear that if you follow the yellow brick road to see the Wizard, he will grant you one.

Heartless gobtard.

The OPEC oil embargo, the cost of the war in Vietnam and the loss of consumer confidence, had more to do with the '70's economic stagnation than any 'left wing' economic policies. I fear the cost of the Iraq adventure will take ten years or more to overcome.

You are joking right? The UK economy is in the toilet right beside that of the USA.

So, nobody has ANY refutation for what I said? Just schoolyard name calling?

And I bet these people think they are "open-minded"

Politics are not a fashion statement, stop trying to impress people. Take an economics or business course. This isn't high concept shit.

Refute what?

You posted an opinion, with nothing to back it up. As far as I can tell, your original point was that taxes are bad.

If you have some kind of point, post it, and supply data to back up your hypothesis. You may be right, you may be wrong, but I can't refute anything if you're just going to post "I like vanilla ice cream" and then stand around looking for a fight.
