Not everyone felt the need to own a spear, nor a boomerang, nor the bow and arrow. There seemed to be no addiction to own one. Yet everyone has, had the capability to create one.
What is it about a guns that turns us into such protective zealots. Is it their beauty, their power, the ease of which they fit snugly to the hand or body, their sexuality, the power or fascination of something small able to do so much damage. The larger the projectile, the more fascination.
I don't know. All politics aside it seems to be a world wide phenomenon and not just a localized situation.
I've pondered this question for years. I've never been against gun ownership.I'm sure there are differing reasons. Yet, there is something there that is just out of reach of explanation, yet connects it all.
Perhaps it has to do with the Big Bang theory
