Which case featured on the television show "Unsolved Mysteries", has resonated with you through out the years? For me one case has been the heirs of Walter Rice. The notion that a persons true identity still can't be revealed, even today, with resources like genetic genealogy, crowd sourcing, and internet sleuthing ,fascinates me.

Unsolved Mysteries: Why The Hell Didn't JFK Jr. Show Up In Dealey Plaza????

Has Dr. Bob Arnot found the elusive fountain of youth that has captured the imagination of scientists, physicians and explorers since the days of Ponce de León? Only his plastic surgeon, orthopedic surgeon and "hairdresser" know for sure. Dr. Danger, who is now 73, enjoys paddle boarding and rope climbing despite having artificial hips, knees and god knows what else.

If his name sounds vaguely familiar, Dr. Bob Arnot and his nephew were putt-putting in a light-twin turboprop plane just south of Martha's Vineyard on the evening of July 16, 1999. Since Bob is a man of many talents, he had his Piper Cheyenne I straight-and-level-- Century III autopilot heading and altitude hold engaged-- the aircraft flying toward Nantucket island to the east where his summer home was located.

Dr. Bob: "Timmy, look out the front window of the aircraft and tell me what you see."

Nephew: "Gee uncle Bob, I can't see anything. It's like a vast, dark void!"

Dr. Bob: "That's right Timmy. Only we sky gods with instrument ratings can fly in such inclement conditions."

Nephew: "Gosh uncle Bob, you can do everything!"

On or about the same Zulu time, a 38-year-old son of a late POTUS was piloting a single-engine Piper Saratoga on a generally northeast heading. Although the rest of world viewed him as a dapper, dashing, potential future candidate for higher office, that night he was a low-time, VFR general aviation pilot just trying to fly his hen-pecking wife and sister-in-law to Martha's Vineyard. As the aircraft flew offshore, away from the bright lights of cities that dotted the shoreline and headed-out over the waters of Long Island Sound, the PIC (pilot-in-command) had fewer and fewer visual cues in-which his brain could process up from down, left from right. Spatial disorientation ensued and shortly afterward, the PA-32R-300 Saratoga with FAA identification numbers N9253N was in what's known as a graveyard spiral, heading towards Davy Jones' Locker.

Pilots recall what happened the night JFK Jr.'s plane went missing

Oh, I did not know they were airing reruns of Unsolved Mysteries on Vice. Another case featured on Unsolved Mysteries, which remains unsolved is that of Charles Southern. His case also appears on the website the Charley Project. Anyone familiar with this case?
