The state of Texas as a whole (which is what I would think of as local culture) is the chief engine of this right-wing crusade to force puritanical hysteria back on everybody else in the US.

For example the censorship that followed the Texan's, et al, hysteria over this incident:

Puritannical America doesn't understand the difference between nudity and sexuality. We don't know how to separate the two. Leave it to us to worry about our youngsters being titillated (pun intended) by naked Amazonians in their environment shown on the telly.

So, being in TX, I head to a local 'video' theatre. What happens? Everyone walks around covering themselves watching the various porns because they are afraid of the undercover vice cops. To be fair, the theatre posts all 4 of the Texan Penal codes that you could be arrested for even jerking off in the theatre...that you PAID to get into. Our alternative is to go to either of our rather overpriced bathouses...which honestly have become dens of drug use and, as my late grandfather would say 'catching things you cant wash off'.

So let me get this straight. You're upset because you can't go to the adult video, get naked, and jack off but won't go to the bathhouse because it's dirty and costs too much?

While I'm certainly no expert on the legalities involved, I'm sure bathhouses are considered private clubs. Laws involving public accomodations do not apply to them. And I'm sure you'd discover that if nudity and sexual activity were allowed in the adult video, it would soon degenerate into the scene you describe at the bathhouses.

I am pretty sure that there are many conservative religous people that make calls & take action against everything from playboys, to TV ads & tv shows. This has a powerful effect on what people see, & how they think. T

Let's not forget the wonderful Motion Picture Association where you can show vitually ANY AMOUNT of violence and still get an R but you show sex and instant NC-17. Shot off a persons genitals 'R', fondle someone's genitals 'NC-17' (the kiss of death).

Had an interesting discussion about this topic at work awhile back...

The woman speaking is VERY big chested...(she once told us that she was taking a week off, we asked why? she said to have a breast reduction... We thought nothing of it- she is "that" big... She then told us she was kidding...
She ALSO loves to 'show it', revealing blouses, we all know about her 'tattoo' etc...etc..

A new man started in the office and to be blunt- looks like he is smuggling a grapefruit... THAT big (I wear loose slacks, he was 'out of uniform'.

She made the comment about how 'rude' he was 'showing off'. How he should 'cover up' etc...etc...

I asked her why the double standard? what if he can't find pants that fit/hide the bulge (I know this from experience but I didn't talk about that). What if its uncomfortable to 'tuck' that huge cock/balls? (he was embarrasssed one day when apparantly he got a cum/piss stain...

I asked her that would be like us asking her to wear a sweater or shawl to cover up HER big breasts that she seems to like to flaunt so readily (she is also not a pleasant person to deal with/work near/be in the same blg as...)

She was flabbergasted that i would say such a thing...but its true-

we have this flawed morality that a woman can show her nipples but god forbid a man show even a hint of an outline...

I'd say that that is pretty ridiculous, especially coming from her.

If she can comment about, and show off, her own boobs so much, then the new guy would certainly be allowed to do the same.

Of everyone in your office, she's go no right to complain. Tell her that some random internet forum stranger (i.e., me) said so.
