I went into this with some retrograde ejaculation. The amount of cum was fairly small as compared to years ago. If anything, my volume is now a bit higher, not porn quality, but still a bit better. As for sensation, no change there at all. It was my understanding that retrograde ejaculation was the biggest possibility, and since I had that anyway, it wasn't a concern as long as my urologist assured me the sensation would not be diminished.

With my Urologist it was all about prostate size as to if he did Urolyft or TURP and if your prostate was above a size he wanted the prostate biopsy. There is no choice with this Urologist. I just wish I had gone to see a Urologist when I was about 65YO when my prostate was smaller.

I was able to afford and do the prostate biopsy 02.19.2020 but I thought they were a bit more advanced in doing prostate biopsy than what I found them capable of doing and was disappointed in medical technology of today but that is neither here nor there and it was what it was. I will say this though had I known more about how the biopsy was going to be preformed I would have elected not to have it done. We will find out in a couple of days as to what the results are and I will be told on my next appointment 03.05.2020 what the results of the biopsy were.

Hopefully the results will be good. I also had a prostate biopsy several years ago. I will never have another one. Really bad experience.

I did not have a bad experience but at my advanced age I am not worried about passing because of prostate cancer. I will not experience another prostate biopsy. I am positive of that no matter how little they receive from the biopsy the Urologist performed. As of now I have decided I will not be letting the Urologist perform the TURP procedure on me. The next Urology appointment is 3.05.2020 and i could change my mind after I speak with my Primary Care Physician on 03.04.2020 but I seldom make mind changes as that.

So I still have not been back to the Urologist to discuss the biopsy results but I have received the documentation of charges and payments from my secondary health insurance company. Medicare being my primary Also remember these charges do not include the charges of the tests ask for by the Urologist 4 days prior to the biopsy procedure of which I had to pay for in cash of also $2000.00 which they billed to me separate prior to tests being performed. There were also other tests 3 or 4 that Medicare and my secondary insurance picked up the costs 100%. The day the biopsy was preformed I had to show up 2 hour prior to the appointed time for preparation for the procedure. The techs and the nurses and Physicians were all very pleasant and did everything to keep me comfortable prior to the procedure. Just a few minutes prior to the procedure my Urologist visited with me to see how I was doing and ask if I had any questions about the procedure. One question I did ask was total time procedure takes and was told about 20 minutes when all goes well.15 minutes after the Urologist departed about 3 other people showed up and wheeled me down a hallway through double doors down another hallway and into a big room with observers which I signed off on in the pre-registration for the procedure. I was not there more than maybe 1 minute if even that and it was lights out. I wake up and see this young man at his work station. He sees me stirring a bit and comes over to see how I am doing and then we talk a bit. He is a recovery room nurse and he tells me they will send someone to get my wife as they would like me to be there for a few more minutes. When my wife gets there he comes back over and tells me in about 10 minutes I can change from the gown to my street clothing. My wife started looking for my clothing and then went to ask the nurse where it was put. The nurse came over raised the table I was laying on, removed the monitoring devices, I got dressed and a nurse assistant had me00sit in a wheel chair and she wheeled me out the front door to the car my wife had brought to the door and I stepped into the car and we came home. The thing I was really surprised about were the amount of the charges just for the biopsy. The total billed by the facility was $48,444. This amount was was all approved by Medicare but Medicare did not pay$351.44 which was paid by my secondary health insurance provider. Leaving me $0.00 to pay. I had already paid about $2000.00 in tests prior to the procedure which was ordered by my Urologist. Breakdown of charges below...

Service Submitted Charges
Prescription Drug $$246.00
Diagnostic Lab Test $5,604.00
Surgery (not including Urologist) $33,597.00
Anesthesia $2,091.00
Xray, technical CHG $1,187.00
Prescription Drug $2,152.00
Prescription Drug $310.00
Prescription Drug $8.00
Prescription Drug $200.00
Prescription Drug $122.00
Prescription Drug $51.00
Prescription Drug $393.00
Surgery $2,483.00

Don't know when the Urologist will bill Medicare, soon I hope so I can see what his charges will be. I won't be seeing my Urologist till the fall to discuss the Prostate biopsy results. I don't like going to Physicians in the Spring and Summer as I like that time for me, not in a waiting room or listening to some Urologist tell me that my Prostate is huge or cancerous. He can do that in the fall or Winter. He may tell me to find another Urologist which is fine with me. If so I will just drop the whole thing cause I am tired of it going on so long with all this testing and procedures and so it goes.

They would have to wheel me back in after I suffered a heart attack from seeing that bill. Outrageous cost. I'm still waiting to have my Urolift done and dealing with the insurance and pre-billing charges make for a horrible experience.

I don't think you are giving it enough time. I had mine on the 31st of December and it took several weeks for things to get back to the new normal.
I don't regret having it done. The only thing that I have any problem with is holding it, if I let myself get in a tight. Other than that everything has improved. Even the ability to hold it is better. Just not like a young man.

The Urologist added another $697.00
For his services and some kind of an XRay Service?

Dealing with insurance companies can be a nightmare and I think they like it that way so you never want to deal with them. I feel they make it just as difficult as they can for customers to collect services. I understand why insurance is expensive with the prices I see billed. With all the government regulations may be why these prices are being billed.

Update:
I had my Urolift Monday, 23. This was done as an outpatient in a local hospital. I was put under during the procedure, and judging by the discomfort I'm currently dealing with, it was probably for the best. I'm a little upset by some of the YouTube videos I watched that were produced by the Doctors offering this procedure. I now believe they were all misleading from the testimonies given by the men who had this done. I may change my tune later once this pain and discomfort has passed and is a distant memory. This is my first time ever having a catheter. I've listened to a few friends and coworkers talk about how unpleasant they are. I now understand, but I'm thankful in a way I'm using one. I'm passing a lot of dark or pink-colored urine and I don't think I would be able to trust being able to hold my urine without an accident. Being chained to this big hose and large bag is no fun either. Every few hours I suffer from painful cramps as if my bladder is full and won't empty. It's very confusing to my brain to stand in front of the toilet with the urge to pee, but seemingly can't and I have this hose stuck up in me. I stand there afraid I'm going to piss all over myself but also realize that shouldn't happen. Hopefully day two will be a more calming and pleasant day. I was issued no pain relief but was given instructions to buy an over the counter pain medication called AZO. I think this works but wears off within a few hours.

I'm scheduled for my first follow up on the morning of day 3. This will be my first time seeing and talking with my Urologist after the procedure. Removing this catheter will be something I'm looking forward to.

I had a TURP performed on me several years ago in Phoenix AZ. Afterward I had to wear a catheter for 2 weeks and I dreaded having the tube removed because I thought it was going to sting like crazy...well my apprehension was unfounded because my Dr slipped it out so easily I hardly even noticed at all when he removed it. I had been dreading my followup appt for 2 solid weeks because I knew he was going to remove the tube and I worried about nothing at all.

He had forewarned me that about 90-some % of men are left with retrograde ejaculation after the TRUP procedure so I knew what I was getting into but the alternative in my case was kidney failure so the unfortunate trade-off was worth it.
