What is your experience with urology exams, specifically as it relates to the penis/balls? I'm in my 20s but recently had some pain in my testicles as well as some redness under the foreskin so I saw 2 uros. The first one was younger and just had me drop my pants and took a cursory look at the cock and balls. Second guy was a bit older and had me lay back with my pants down while he did a more thorough exam; he retracted the foreskin himself which gave me a bit of a semi (first guy asked me to do it).

Does your uro doctor do a more thorough exam or just a glance? Any younger guys here with a similar experience of seeing a urologist with some minor issues in the genitals?

Also I hate how they always have the female nurses ask you about your symptoms and everything, it's so uncomfortable talking to a woman about some sensitive issues like that especially at the urologist office, to me personally

My uro is like your second one. Always on the table, pants down, and he handles everything, although I am cut.

I've been seen by both older and younger urologists, and my experience in the UK has been always the same.
Few questions as I walked in, being asked to drop my pants, the uro gets its gloves on while I get ready, first examination standing (usually scrotum) and afterwards being asked to lay down and a second examination with more attention to how everything looks and feeling for any lumps, hernias or things that shouldn't be.
I've never encountered a female uro or assistant, always both male, and both in the room (I guess to avoid sexual misconduct accusations), and the assistant is usually not participating in the physical examination.

I only had one instance where there was another person in the room other than the doctor. I was in the urologist's office ( I have been with him for many years, so we know each other pretty well). There was a younger male urology resident who was assisting him that day. My doctor is older, so he has no inhibitions - just get down to business. Anyway, I was there for my exam, as I have a very small benign testicular cyst that causes problems occasionally. I was told to undress from the waist down and lie down on the table. I did, and the doctor proceeded to handle my genitals, asking if there was pain here or there. All the while. the resident was getting a close-up look as to what he was doing. When he got to the cyst ( which I guess is in an unusual area) he manipulated the testicle and then asked if it was okay if the resident examined it, as it was somewhat unusual. I said," Sure," and let the resident feel me up. That was the only time there was another person in the room during an exam.

Been to the urologist 2 or 3 times. Saw a certified urologist nurse practioner because the wait to see the urologist was too damn long. Both times she had me stand up and drop my pants. She put gloves on and did a quick exam. Maybe a minute.
That was it.

Had been going to my GP for allergy shots for 2 years , mentioned that I had a few red spots under my foreskin - gave me a prescription for a fungal cream , problem solved . Two months later I arrive for another injection , he has a med student in the office . Gives me the injection , then asks to see if the cream is working on my foreskin , and would I object to the student also observing . Started to chub up, dropped my jeans and skinned back . Everyone had a look before I was fully hard

My experience has been varied. I’ve seen a few different urologists over the years for a varicocele and microlithiasis (testicular issues). My first few male urologists just went straight to the testes in their exams and that was it. This past year I saw a female urologist for the first time and she checked everything (me standing the whole time). Started with the penis, checked the meatus, palpated the shaft, and then spent quite a bit more time on the scrotal contents than my previous doctors. Though unexpected, I appreciated her thoroughness. I did get a “semi” which was a little embarrassing.

Yep. Had a few female assistants come in first to talk about symptoms and even semen analysis results. A little embarrassing to be sure.

I’ve had a few Uro exams due to my missing ball. Looking at options for a fake one. The most in depth one I’ve ever had is where due to my short frenulum (which I’ve since removed completely) I had pain when I was erect. I had to wank up an erection for the doctor to check me out. He was fine with me taking a little bit of time.

Oh wow. I would love to have to get erect for a doctor. I have never heard of anyone needing asked that before

I have had several Uro exams. All followed about the same procedure.

Unless there is some reason to see/study an erection, that will not be part of the examination. Doctors can get a semen sample by just pressing on your prostate.

Several studies (surveys) have found that a significant number of older men would rather have a female urologist.

For the most part these are guys who have been married and who have more anxiety about another male handling their genitals than a female. This bias toward a female might also be associated with getting a heterosexual buzz. But they are most likely associated with some degree of negative homosexual bias.

In a regular exam, most urologists will spend more time on your balls than anything else. This will be especially true if there are lumps or what appears to be swelling. In those cases your balls will likely be measured and you will possibly be sent for some form of imaging.

When it is all over, you can expect to deal with one or a number of female techs or office assistants. Odds are some kid who has only been out of high school for a couple of years may be asking you questions or arranging follow up procedures for you to follow.

Bottom line is--- it really doesn’t matter what sex the urologist (or staff) is so long as they are skilled at their job.

Some urologists have a sense of humor. Others could use one.

I have Peyronie's and have had many exams where the doctor palpated me to an erection to check the curvature and for pain. It was awkward the first couple of times he did it. One time I already had a semi when I stopped trousers and he commented on it.

I did my annual visit to the urologist last week. He follows me because of previous kidney stones. I showed up at the office with the recent x-ray which he took a quick look at. "No new stones," he says. I smile at the news. He says, "Shame to waste out fifteen minutes together. Drop your shorts for a prostate exam?"

So he hands be the tissue box and I bend over the table while he gloves and lubes up. He slides a finger in the hole and rubs around. "Normal," he says. "When was the last time you had a hernia check?"

"Primary doc doesn't do them anymore," I say. "Guess she doesn't enjoy feeling balls."

"Turn around and I'll cop the feel."

So I turn and he does the turn your head and cough and testicular exam. "Everything fine. You had hernia surgery before?"

"Yeah. Years ago."

"May I check for scar tissue?" He has me lay on the table while he presses all over my abs and belly. He finds he spot on the right side. "I think this maybe impacting your inguinal canal. Any trouble with pain during sex? Difficulty in ejaculating?"

As his fingers are roving around, he's touching and moving my cock. The second he says 'ejaculating,' I'm hard.

"Shall we check it out?"

Before I can answer. He milks my cock and executes the perfect prostate massage. Soon, I'm shooting spurt after spurt.

"No problems here," he says. Squeezing the last of the cum from my prostate and then my cock.

I'm wiping belly, cock, and ass with the tissues. He slips off the gloves. I have my after-cum grin on my face wondering what will happen next year. Maybe I'll remind him to check the scar tissue again.

Love that I am cut. Over half of this nonsense to unnecessary.
