Javierdude22: God I love Canadians

I think it's so funny how they always put Canadian flags on their backpacks so people wont think theyre Americans. Kinda like most people mistaking the Dutch for Germans...big no no

I was in a bus to Machu Picchu today (go see that, its awesome!) where I met two Canadian women who past the Menopauze a century ago. They were really nice though, and we started talking about Peruvian poltics, landed on how the US was misusing the FTAA towards Peru, and of course onto Iraq.

I just dont understand how two former British colonies, so close together, with similar cultures, can be so different. We were discussing American Poltics basically, as far as we understood it at least, and came to the conclusion we saw eye to eye on Iarq heading in a very bad direction. Funny thing was that an American woman was listening in on our converstion, and asked where I came from. Don't know why. She wasn't upset at all though, although I do think she was hiding her Bush vote in 2000. Oh well...funny.

On another political forum, Bush supporters claim this will help Bush win the elections. Hm...I dunno...I would like to think it doesnt work like that, but Ive been surprised before by American voters.

I do have to admit though, that I think Kerry is not doing as good as he should or could be doing. Several opnion magazines have already claimed he just misses that je ne sais quoi which wins elections. He should also be more than just 'not Bush'.
'
I mean, Iraq couldnt get worse (well it could, but its a peak) and they still tie according to opinion polls. That leads me to think a slight betterment of Iraq (which would be welcomed) would push him over. Its shouldnt be that easy...there's more to a President than 'National Security'.

Well I'm not exactly a fan of Ralph but can we please stop blaming him for Gore not winning Florida. Here are the results from Florida

Bush - 2,912,790
Gore - 2, 912,253
Nader - 97,488
Buchanan - 17,484
Other - 23,055
Buchanan and all of the other votes COMBINED do not equal Nader's. So couldnt we logically say that if it was a two man race, Gore would have won by a much bigger margine than Bush's 537?

BTW, I do not buy the argument that most of Nader's voters would have stayed home or voted for Bush. I think that is lunacy.

LOL So much for every Cold War president except for Carter. Although Carter wasn't technically a "Cold War" president; the Cold War ended in 1973, then Reagan brought it back as a political device.
Whoa?! 1973! How? Here I thought I was mr. Big Shot because I made a 5 on the A.P. U.S. History test in High School. Why was 1973 significant in terms of the cold war?

It was declared over in 1973 by the press; most of the nuclear paranoia was over by then. Said nuclear paranoia was revived with Reagan.

Well, Bush has been called the "environmental president" by the certifiably insane.

Okay, I'll 'fess up I have been reading a very conservative site. Don't believe me? Check out the past polls.

This article should be a concern for all Americans as we move toward electing a President.

http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publ...icle_4636.shtml

What I don't understand is why Dubya's mother let him run for President. Within the past week or so, Dubya's wife [She is so forgettable.] told late night tv that Barbara told her that Dubya did not like criticism so never express an honest but critical evaluation of his performance.

Hmmmm....it seems to me that to be President the first requirement should be to accept/ignore criticism. Those with the most fragile egos in the past century [Harding and Nixon] had troubled Presidencies.

Okay, now I have never heard of this Capitol Hill blue website. Now, I think some of Bush's policies are misguided, but this website conveys a man insane. THAT I find hard to believe. Is this website really legitimate? Or is it the Liberal version of that idiot Matt Drudge. (you know, that 1 out of 100 stories correct hack journalist?)

Mr. Bigg Stuff..

The site was required reading in a couple of courses back in 1998 and 1999. It exulted in the 1994 takeover of Congress and was "out" to get Clinton. It was considered to be very conservative but not irresponsible. I had forgotten about it until a week or so ago when a friend emailed the URL. So today I found this article and decided to throw it out as a possibility. As Mark points out, alcohol and drug abuse create problems related to paranoia [and anger management accoding to TIME].

Dubya does seem to have a fragile ego and does not appear to like criticism or reflection and self-evaluation....ya know, "Have I ever made a mistake?" Well, he promised the press he would get back to them. Since he never did, some assume he never has. Hmmmmm.

Remember Judicial Watch was founded to uncover the missteps of the Clinton Administration. Today, it remains a national watchdog and has provided memos on prisoner abuse that appear to contradict testimony before the Senate.

So all of a sudden some character flaws disqualify the man from being President?

Have we forgotten, or put purposefully away, the peccadillos of the last man to fill that post? Those 'flaws' added to the man's character overall and certainly not affect his ability to govern.

huh? I thought character flaws were synonymous with ethical or moral lapses. So what are Dubya's moral lapses? Inquiring Christians want to know.
