Ok, how about the government spends money inefficiently? That's a hard one to argue...

Actually the government generally runs with much lower overhead than any comparable private venture, depending on program. Generally the inefficiencies come when somebody gets private business involved and suddenly someone is trying to inflate their bill or skim to make a profit.

And that space toilet thing was for a toilet, in fucking space. On the ISS. That converts urine to potable water in zero G.

Please, with your great experience with extraterrestrial plumbing, tell us how to make it more efficient.

Yes, it is your perspective based on your priorities, not an objective perspective, based on shared priorities.

I think that inventing a device that does what that toilet does would take considerable engineering, research, and testing.

If you think you can do it for cheaper, then by all means show us your business model.
