I'm assuming you did not read it all then.

If youve got nothing to add of substance, please troll somewhere else.

Nah, I read it. All that 6inchcock said was that China achieved its strategic goals but performed poorly on the battlefield, which was not that different from the article you posted. The biggest difference was in tone. 6inchcock was very mocking of China's actions in Vietnam while the article was much more sympathetic.

Perados, can you provide a link showing all these Chinese military bases spread all over the south pacific ?

:eek:mfg::eek2: and you wonder why we are worried

btw some history for you.

Vietnan vs France -Vietnam won

Vietnam vs USA -vietnam won

Vietnam vs- China China won

Hmmm, I think I pretty much already told you this. But the fact that China allegedly achieved a strategic victory over Vietnam says very little about the nations tactical, operational or strategic prowess. So if your mathematical equation here is that China beat Vietnam and Vietnam beat the US (see tactical failure by Vietnam but strategic success), ergo PRC can defeat the US, your smoking hundred year old opium, left over from the Boxers.

BTW thanks for the link it was very useful

I think you missed your own lesson. The land lost (not really)/regained was smoke and mirrors. The objective was deterring Vietnamese expansion into Cambodia and curbing encroachment by the USSR.

Good for you guys, bad for Afghanistan 10 months later.

I'm never quite sure why people get banned here.

Oh well . . .

Coming from China, being banned should be a pretty regular occurrence. I am sure the wounded party will live and survive to pop back up again later on the this site or others like it.

Ah . . . thanks, Sargon! I had no idea there was that much transparency . . . or that the moderators were kept so busy!
