So I feel a bit dumb for asking this, but I figured I'd finally try using torrents to download movie and porn files, but I seem to be unable to follow instructions... I've got Transmission (to send and recieve bit torrent files? - I dunno!) and I'm registered on gay-torrents.com. You'd think I could put the two together to watch a video or two, but I seem incapable. Anyone got simple instructions even an idiot could understand?

    Thanks!

This is stuff you might already know but I hope it helps

You need a torrent file (your movie)
And a Torrent client, like Bittorrent to download the torrent.

Open the torrent file with the torrent client and it should automactically start downloading (If there are users out there to download from).

Along the level of torrent clients I would suggest microtorrent. You can find it over at µTorrent - The Lightweight and Efficient BitTorrent Client Very quick install, very easy to use. Once installed it is going to run a couple of tests to see what your bandwidth is like (up and down) and it will also see if the appropriate port is open on your router. The default port for utorrent is 24211. To open that up I'd need to know your router type/model and I can walk you right through it. Once that setup is done the client will take over the .torrent extension so when you get onto that site and click on a torrent link utorrent will open it up and start downloading it. Depending on the number of people sharing it (Seeds) and the number of leechers (people downloading it) will determine how fast you get it. Might take a couple of days, might take 10 minutes. Hope this helps, I'll check back to this thread if you post your router type/model and give you steps for opening that port number.

I find that torrents are ok for porn.. I've found waay more of what I want searching for megaupload or rapidshare links. But it's pretty good for full dvd rips sometimes, just search for "porn torrents" and a few sites should pop up that specialize in porn.. If you have something specific in mind you'd probably have to go through a lot of them. Just remember that you want to download files with a large SEED number.. otherwise you'll probably be waiting a few days for some files. Generally, googling anything like "Destiny Deville torrent" or "sasha grey torrent" etc should get a few hits, but don't expect the same kind of variety and volume for movies or music. A great site for non-porn content is TORRENTS | TO | Your BitTorrent Search, it's a search engine that goes through all the major torrent sites.

I also think utorrent is the best torrent client.

The only thing is you might experience problems if you use a router, and you may have to configure your router.. which will probably take a while. Just go to PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall and follow their instructions.
