V E stands for victory in Europe.
We should never forget.
It was the day the Allied Forces could declare victory over the German Army - for the second time in less than a century.
We should never forget.
Man is capable of the most inhuman conduct, the greed for power supersedes common decency.
After 75 years you'd think the world had learned a lesson of not looking the other way, of turning a blind eye?
We must never forget those who gave in order for the world to begin to regain freedom
(V J was still to come and with it some semblance of world peaces though Korea and Vietnam were still to come, along with other smaller wars - small but capable of causing death and misery)
Now, more than at any other time we need to know the world will stand up to petty bullies who wish to inflict their own views, and so, we should be more than ready to support the United Nations - turned by some into a toothless establishment - but give it back its teeth, stop the veto's.
We must never forget.
So, today, spare a thought for those who lost lives fighting the forces massed by Germany,
We must never forget
We must never allow the world to re-write history to suit its own agenda.

WE MUST NEVER FORGET

No one forgets, but this year is fraught with unknown challenges.

Please show understanding.
I agree. But let's not allow another Hitler to rise to dictatorial power because we are "fraught with unknown challenges."

This is how Hitler came to power. Germany was dealing with inflation that was so bad that it mattered greatly if you shopped in the morning or afternoon. The German people were frantic over their economic situation. So, Hitler came to have dictatorial power.

We can't let that happen again in 2020!

Unlike in 1933, no one is looking the other way. We are remembering in a way that does not unleash other catastrophic problems.
