I'm looking to buy a bigger pump after consistently packing my 2.5" diameter tube. upward and onward to bigger and better things!

I haven't brought a new pump in years, and the last one I did was vacutech. I really enjoy their high quality parts and don't want to risk going with a different brand, but I can't seem to find their website anymore. I keep stumbling onto some company that makes pumps for plumbers instead.

Is vacutech still around? Also, are the pump connections universal? Would I be able to use vacutech's hand pump with cylinders from other companies?

The pump connections are definitely NOT universal, unfortunately. Purposefully...
The companies that make the tubes want you to buy all of the other gadgets and attachments directly from them.

Yes, so far everything has been compatible across brands.

Mr. S, Boston Pump, Vacu-Tech, Northwest Pump Works, Monster Pump, etc. I've collected cylinders and accessories from lots of different brands, all of which have been interchangeable.

A partial exception is CTC because they don't come with quick-connect fittings installed, but their tubing is the same size as all the other brands so it's still compatible if you just swap-in a hose from any other brand that has a quick-connect fitting. For instance, I installed a Northwest Pump Works extension hose to a CTC Studmaker pump to attach all my other-branded cylinders. Later I upgraded to a VacuTech pump, and it was compatible right out of the box.

Note, however, that cheap "toy" pumps aren't directly compatible because they're sold with pump-and-cylinder already attached together. For instance, the 'Sta-Hard' pump and 'Breast Pump' can't really be hooked up to another pump, but Happy Stim sells fittings and accessories that could be used to convert them...if you really wanted to...Welcome to our Online E-Store

So Vacutech no longer makes pumps?
I have no idea. I haven't shopped for VacuTech stuff lately because Happy-Stim carries compatible cylinders, including thick-wall cylinders, and offers a wider selection of parts and accessories.

For the actual pump, check out Harbor Freight, Brake Bleeder Pump, solid brass and well made with a low price, under $30. The plastic pumps wear out and break down, let alone are pricy from a cock pumping website. Good luck.
